Hey all, up until now I was posting most of my stuff in sketches and WIPS. Thought that's where all unfinished work goes. I have ADD when it comes to finishing projects and jump around so I guess people were getting annoyed with all my ul's hopefully this is the right place. Crits and tips most graciously welcome! Thnx for hosting me CA!!

u got some pretty nice work here, and good job with the refinements, coz they improved the image quite a bit even for just minor fixes. it does pay off lol.
ur speed painting r quite good also, prob better than wat i could do for a speed painting.
so overall ur heading the right way with ur work.

Check out my SKETCHBOOK ...looking for helpful advice!

Hey all not sure where I'm going which route to go with this picture but one idea is to have the leaves flying around morph into legs or the latter idea where a honey suckling plant is dropping its load to form the legs. Any suggestions?

Second post is a speed paint (5mins) of worms i guess in a wooded area with beams of light showing through.

Last posts for the night, I promise. Just spent last 50 mins speed painting trying to skill get the grasp of values and overall composition. I have a really bad habit of detailing if I really like a form or line. Anybody else have this problem? If so any exercises to remedy??

Glad to be back in the states!

Hey all hope everyone had a great Xmas. Just started fiddling around with the wacom an hour ago, really motivated after watching the first part of Brachna vid, you rock man! Is anyone having trouble completing the DL for the second part? Mine download just freezes at some point and never completes.

    Vehicle Paint

Started out with speed paint but then ended up spending too much time on it. Guess i'll keep rendering this one since invested time into it.

    Update

Coming along, working on the weekend is a drag, glad I'm able to do this afterwards! Need to start doing things from reference conceptualizing takes a lot of guess work.

Leaves forming legs. I like a lot of your stuff. Unique perspective and good imagination.

I'd love to see you spend more time on pieces though. As of the looks right now it seems as though you can put a lot out but it's rare that you finish something. If you manage to finish more pieces you're bound to get quicker at it.

    peace

Hi : ) You have some nice art here. One thing I will point out is that you should focus more on quality than speed. At least until you reach a certain level. When the quality is at a nice level, then it's about time to speed things up. I think its a very bad idea to trade quality with speed.

Good luck! I'm sure you are going to become great if you keep those studies up. I especially like the foreshooten hand

Thanks Guilemo for the tip, I am going to set goals for myself so now I will keep working on till i finish a project. I think I'm going to try and start the new year by doing more observational sketches.

I like the style you're developing! Good perspective and promising landscapes. I think you just need to refine and push your skills. Break it down into categories to focus on improving step by step. Seems your strongest strengths are in perspective then vehicles then landscapes/scenes while your weaker point is in anatomy though you have good instincts about interesting character/costume design. Bringing your anatomy to your perspective level would do a lot for your scenes. I feel you're going to get impressive pretty fast! Cya.

Eon: Thanks for the tip, I am currently doing some anatomy studies just haven't got around to getting a scanner to upload sketches. Will keep working on it.

Iceman478: Thanks I really appreciate the props, will keep working hard to get to texturing my sketches at your level!

Still no scanner, but here's one update on the digital.

well one good tip for using textures is to make sure you have layers on everything you do when you paint on a pc ... ...and it also all depends on how your going to use the textures ....i dunno if thats really a good tip but i hope it helped

    Been a while

Hey all work has been insane! Finally had time to catch Android rip it, sickness, which brings me back to here after that short burst of inspiration. My first pic is a wIp that was inspired by the Brachna experimentation of sketchup and painting. C&C needed?! I know the reflections are all wonkers, gonna have to mask some of it out. I named this one Arena 51, was suppose to get this done for the last environment of the week challenge, but didn't make it so now it's here. Suppose to be a digital arena, similar to that forum where contestant try to produce the best eye candy.
