    Strange Behavior

This has probably been done before.
Do you have any weird habits?
    Do you behave strange?

    Tell us!

I've caught myself muttering under my breath when no one else is around recently. I didn't used to do that.

When I'm nervous I bend my fingers backwards.

I get the uncontrollable urge to doodle, but I'm sure that's not a strange habit around here.

I'm always talking to myself, even when I'm walking near people. I even laugh. It's probably strange seeing me on the street because I've always got my mouth moving.

    I don't think it's intentional.
    But it's still creepy.

Haha, I'm totally the same. xD

Even when I'm sitting in the office with 6 other guys around me, I'm always talking to myself.
The funny thing is, the guy who sits across me has the same habit. ^^
For people who don't know us it's a total mindfuck, because from a distance it looks like the two of us are engaged in a conversation, but as soon as you step near nothing makes sense anymore.

    Well that's strange.
But is it like: "Did I remember to take out the trashes? No probably not, that's bad.
    Oh, I like this game
    Stupid reports, mean bills."?
Or is it: "How are you doing?
    I'm doing fine, thank you.
    Nice weather.
    Nice weather indeed"?

I talked to myself but it was rather sporadic. Usually when I did some complicated job alone in my room. Propably beacause it helped me focus a bit .

Most of the time it's just thought fragments depending on the situation I'm in or the stuff I'm doing at that given moment..
have you seen that movie with Jim Carrey where he sais everything out loud that he thinks? Kinda like that.

Like last week on the bus to work... "Hey, that girl's pretty. I like her hair.
It's almost the same color like that car on the tv show I've seen yesterday...
hm... now that I think about it, that car was probably even prettier than the girl."
And after a few more seconds I realize I'm still on the bus, she is still standing next to me, giving me the meanest look.

But from time to time I'm having completely coherent conversations and arguments with myself about... whatever.
That last two months it was mostly about what TabletPC I should buy and why the specs of A are better than that of B.

Me too! I crack up when I'm nervous or anxious and when I'm nervous or anxious it's always the absolute worse time to laugh... Like at life drawing!!!
I guarantee that I'll be nervous at the workshop and I'll be giggling or more likely punching myself to try to make myself stop and not making any noise but still looking like I'm giggling... It's AWFUL and I can't make myself stop! All of the most embarrassing moments of my life have been caused by this horrible habit!

Well...I talk to the project I'm working on...if that counts as talking to yourself...

It's like I'm trying to convince my work to well... work the way I want it to. (Goes for 'day job' as well as art... people give you a look when you're talking to a box...) Luckily it's always been a 1-way conversation - as soon as they respond to me I'm going to check into the clinic .

Although yes, it is most definitely a focus thing.

    ----------

I laugh at inappropriate times as well Jake - however it's due to how I think (I am very much a 'left field' person when it comes to my thoughts - I'll connect on very obscure points, which means sometimes in serious conversations I'll connect some small moment to something hilarious before and start having to restrain laughter ).

Different cause, same result unfortunately .

    *cough*Freak*cough*

I think I have everyone beat when it comes to self talking. Not only do I talk to myself (I am constantly working out SOMETHING in my head, so I am often talking), but I include arm motions as well as a visualization technique. To make matters worse, I will sometimes slip in French, German, or Latin, or use words from these languages, randomly. Imagine, a person walking down the street, arms waving, sometimes muttering to himself (sometimes English, sometimes not, but the way I walk to myself is that only random snippets will slip out. EX: ..."But, if we do that" ... "Que?" ... "No, I do not" Thing is, the arm waving will continue when I am not saying anything aloud.), and TRY not to be totally freaked out by that.

That is only the start of my strange habits.

Would you like to know more?

Sometimes my mind will just snap and wander. Like I'll be sitting in class, looking around, then a thought comes into my head and everything else dissapears, and I'll be staring at nothing for a few moments.

I once snapped out of it and saw I was staring right at a girl in my class, who had a weirded out look on her face. Damn that was akward.

I engage in no strange behavior.

    I have no bad habits.

I exist only to blend in.

Last week I bended in two gophers, a random shopping cart and a 1963 road grader owned by the township.

I plan on having dinner ready in approximately one week.

I talked for two weeks exclusively in English when I was in one art camp in Czech Republic. At the end my thoughts were mix of Polish and English language. That's strange but funny experience .

I'm always moving around. I'm either playing with my hair, tapping my fingers, or other random stuff. I can't sit still unless I'm meditating or doing yoga.

Songs will often get stuck in my head, most often it is rap songs. And sometimes when I'm bored and waiting for the subway I start to sing or rap, but not loud, just moving my mouth, but then I remember I'm around people and I'm not yet old or homeless so I stop.

I talk to animals, computers and, if possible, even a spoon can function as a partner in a endless monologue.

Second thing is that I have the nasty habit to knack my neck whenever I feel the need to do it. The sound used to scare people, since it more sounds like I'm breaking my own neck. I can freely move my neck without any harm done after the knack, but some people stare at me like I'm a living dead or something like that...

Then shamble after them and make throat noises and attempt to eat them. Then just as you get them cornered, stop what you're doing and say "just kidding".

    Then eat them anyway
