Hi everyone, im Maarten Keizer 18 years old and from the Netherlands.
Easy put.. I need to draw more, unfortunally my brain doesn't fart very often. So I thought let's start a sketchbook at CA
I trying to learn anatomy and digitally painting, so one day I can do concept art and eviroments! That would be totally cool. So please fire your critiques away!

First sketch today with PaintChat.
Planning of fleshing this one out, fanart of Hellboy ofcourse
yeh i really like that first pic also ... make it BIG.
hellboy pic is also pretty good .. just tank him up a bit more lol and proportion is important (something i need to work on a little too)
but other than that ... good stuff!
Really like the thumbnail as well Congrats on your Sketch book. Keep it up
Some speedpaint enviroments I did. These are all the practise I got because I recently switched from anime to more serious painting and drawing.
The thumb It was a WIP for a EOW but I didnn't have the time to finish
Some speedpaints all around 1 ~ 1,5 hours
Started painting Hellboy, altough I should be studying. Ahh procrastination....
give me crits and pointers please! Like how can I easily create distance between the character and the background?
Oh btw im also looking for a mentor xD To mentor me in about anything. Im willing to learn everything you are willing to teach me
while ur characters need a lil more improving imo, ur landscape pics r awesome for quick paints in about 1 hour. it's good how u can do that (i cant just as yet lol).
umm ... about hellboy painting to create depth ... im no pro .. but contrast between the two would do it good. u could put more darker colours into the background and highlight some features on the left side of his body (also gives good depth). but highlights and shadows go a long way... experiment.
hope that all makes sense
cant get over how good ur landscapes r for such short time lol
gkrit: Thnx for the comment I though of contrast myself but I can't really put blue in hellboy nor the background D: And about the 1 hour paints, for me it's just a matter of flow. Once I get into it goes automaticly, but I find it hard to get into such a state of mind.
i wouldnt use blue either ... but u saying that for the contrast? or as a background colour??
Alright the hellboy painting didn't work out so I started over and got rid of that cartoony feel. hope this is better and please tell me your thoughts on this.
Update on hellboy
please tell me if it is too bright, It pierced my eyes when I viewed it on my dad's pc, but on my laptop it fine..
