    First 'purpose' photos

    Hey all,

These photos are the first I have ever taken with intent to show and take crits on.

They were all taken with a camera phone, I'm still deciding which professional camera I want to go with and the inspiration isn't ready to wait =0)

Any comments and crits are more than appreciated!!

Not bad for coming from a camera phone. I was surprised that they were as sharp as they were. What phone and what megapixel size are the original shots?

they look alright ... tho the medium doesn't matter sometimes, you should try to take photo's with a digital or film camera(were you have more control) becouse i see some talent in your photos.

    post more ...
    cheers

Some new ones up...w13 to w24 were just taken while running errands, Vancouver doesn't usually have a mix of sun and cloud, its either pouring rain or blue skies. Anyhoo, again these are all from the camera in my iphone.

    Thanks for comments in advance!

remote links to images from flickr need to be just that... links.

It means you have to embed not only the image in here, but also embed the image into a link to the flickr page of the image.
I think, if you click "all sizes" on the photos page you can copy and paste HTML code for image+link from the input boxes below the image.

    Hope it works.

hey, hang on, this image is not a link...

Might be that the direct link will be removed by flickr (replaced with a placeholder) in a few days.

You gotta embed the existing image tags with a link. Just select the image and click the link button and paste the URL to your flickr image page in the pop up input box...

    FEEDBACK:

Hey! It was worth the hassle...LOL

Lovin the colours and the menacing angle. You've got a lot of noise in the sky gradations of blue, though. Wait til someone more DSLR savvy comes around, but generally shooting in lower ISO will reduce noise.

Very nice one. Since you're using an iphone, I think you could use Photoshop or a similar program to get rid of the noise.

As for Flickr, you can choose between different sizes to show here. So, you don't have to go through and resize and reupload everything on Flickr.

ah, about the noise... I totally forgot that this is iphone/cell phone stuff.

You know, while I think that it has its charm to be equipped with an always available photo device (and I have made use of my cell phone for more than documentary snapshots, too) I really feel you should be investigating affordable alternatives - either compact cameras or even DSLR.

Noise reduction will take you only so far and it's much better to use a sensor which can give you low noise pics from the start.
More importantly, some craftmanship aspects of photography make an in-depth study of things like aperture, DOF, shutter times a.s.o mandatory.

You got a working eye for subjects... that's a lot! Now go and get a camera, LOL...

The canon powershot models are quite nice and rather affordable and even give you some manual control over aperture and shutter times.
