Hey man, thanks for the visit and kind words. I replied in that thread. I lurked your work a while ago but will now take the time to say that number one. I am a fan of your paper destruction. I would like to see the animation those stills went with, and the LMS (both versions) fill my head with elaborate freaky narratives. oh yea the last two are dope too. colab right? keep it up, i'll be back.

Really cool photographs, and I love the textured style and the palette of the paintings. I'll keep checking back.

Always love the scenic work. So good with the golden glow.
The Pig Smish is pregnant with psyche. Is that the one you think is poor? I find it really intrigueing; what is the story with that one, dreamlike, and descriptive of a mood. Rich color. The pish patterns are cool, could be varied in size of shapes/stripes, but anyways, very strong image. The House in Wall has that same dream quality.
soft against crisp. You have a definite style seor Brendan.
The color ups in post # 78 have a dark mood to them, as is, I have to admit , a feeling I get from your current palette. Everything tensai said.
    Keep eet up.

AlexC: Thanks mate, glad you like. Composition in that one is mostly Kat's doing, I just coloured.

    chrisly: Thanks dude

aisleen: Many thanks, you're too kind .

maxetormer: thanks man! respect right back atcha.

tensai: Thanks man, much appreciated. I'm kinda in a slump with colours right now. Need to break out of the muddy red-blue-yellow pallete. I'll see what I can do about it, thanks for the crit - hit the nail on the head. Thanks for the props on the colouring job, cool to hear I actually contributed to it haha.

bhanu: fuck figures dude, composition and narrative is where it's at! haha. Hear you brother, will have to make time and invest in some studies. Thanks for dropping by brother, always appreciated.

Kian: Thanks Jon, it's always awesome hearing compliments from you.

DanC: Cool thanks man. I'm busy with my final year here, just finished my first module. Best of luck with the architecture man, hope you have a blast with it.

Kuroyue: Well, not all of them are just sketches, to be honest. Much of what you see here is finished pieces, but they sure look like sketches . Thanks dude, much appreciated.

paperx: Thanks man, much appreciated. The bow ribbon was specifically placed on the border to add some feature and make the distinction more clear. Unfortunately I wasn't able to handle it very well, got lazy and aborted solving the issues. Thanks for the feedback, always appreciated .

    Coinpurse: You horny monkey, thanks.

Troy: Thanks a bunch, it's cool to hear there's some narrative quality in the work - I'm always aiming to let viewers make up stories and interpret the images in a narrative context. The animation on those stills is really bad, no way I'm showing that haha. Thanks for dropping by.

    funfetus: Thanks

Aztec: Thanks so much for your insightful feeback. Pig Smish is odd, it's the one I liked the least at first - now I dislike all the others and it's the only one out of that lot that I still like in some way. Maybe because the composition is a bit stronger? Hear you on the palette, will (hopefully) be posting some variation on that in the near future.

saa: Many thanks dude, appreciate the kind words.

    Lone Wolf: Thanks

Idiot Apathy: To the death fooo! Wait, I haven't started.....
    Thanks dude!

RandAlThor: Glad you like it, but I think it's really one of the weakest pieces in here. baaaaaaaad decisions made in there...

    Rockhart: Thanks mate

marioucci: many thanks for the kind words

mmm, where to start? I have a better idea - let's not start at all and skip straight to the pictures, like when I had to read that Charles Dickens book.

Post stamp designs for college. Type is really bad on the bigger format I know, will probably be changed for the smaller one in any case. Theme: Dinosaurs!

Brief asked for 5 dinos, each with in skeletal form and living flesh - 10 stamps all in all. Drawings in ink, coloured digitally:

love some of the paintings for the stamps. convincing and a nice feel to them. i think as graphic design they are less strong then the other project you did for your traffic lights. i feel the stamps are more successful as illustrations than as graphic designs for stamps. the treadwheel project has stronger composition and a more sophisticated feel for me. actual design of the product looks good too man.

this guy i absolutely love. it's shape design and how you painted it work really well for me, looks very solid too. cheers.

Great stuff as always, Brendan. You know what I like about your style? The interest you add to the backgrounds. I love the textures, splashes , spots.
They add a cool dimension to your works.

3D is coming along. Cool bear. Something recognizable with a twist.

Are the dinosaurs ones found in SA?

p.s. Hey and thanks for adding me to your sig. Much obliged.

Beautiful stamps. I think the couple of horizontal dino skulls don't work as well as the others that have some angle or perspective.

The polar bear creature thing is awesome. Fresh design.

Damn, the Treadwheel designs are really solid and the Prarie Stalker pieces went straight to my hard drive. The ID is looking sweet, definitely makes me want to loosen up and play with shapes and compositions more myself. Doing good work, homie.

hey brendan, you have strong abilities. I like the dinos! but the treadwheel design is one of the best works I think. the logo all above! simply and nevertheless strong. it actually represented "light"! absolutly great! I'm looking forward to your next works!

    cheers,
    Rebecca

Way overdue on replies, but here they are:

Tensai: Thanks! Yes, the stamps - it's my first time trying to design for something so small, so I sort of played it "safe" and stripped the designs from too many elements. They still wound up too busy, too much like what my lecturer would call pea-soup. Thanks for the props on the treadwheel and prairie stalker - had fun with those.

Mickey: haha, yeah I do from time to time. Thanks bro!

Aztec: Thanks! I'm starting to take issue with some of the splotches and stuff - it doesn't involve enough decision making, and the elements come off as too "by chance." I'm looking at being more involved in the shapes and textures and patterns I create and how I lay them out on the picture plane. Less flash and more substance is what I'm hoping for. The dinos are ones found either in SA or in Africa - something the brief required. Huge thanks for stopping by - adding you to my sig is the least I can do .

Kresh: Now I'M humbled! Haha, thanks so much, hugely appreciated!

    Danny: Thanks man!

HunterKiller_: Thanks, with you one the horizontal ones. In retrospect I should have played around there more, I too easily get stuck in a 90 degree horizontal vertical design space...

Cody: Much obliged sir, if I were a chick you'd have me blushing. Also, HUGE HUGE thanks for LMS - I've had great fun, learned lots and will soon have my arse kicked. What decent man could hope for more?

krossj: Thanks mate, always cool hearing your thoughts!

fragmentedchimp: thanks a bunch, unfortunately I doubt there'll be more dinos. They were fun but reptilian skin only amuses me for so long

    DanC: thanks dood!

    cloud86: Haha thanks man!

InFlame: Thanks Rebecca, appreciate the kind words!

chrisly: Thanks man, glad you like!

Mickey: Thank you sunshine child, may the gods of balls and boners guide you always.

Clochette: Thanks, much appreciated! Interesting username btw, is it your actual name?

Sorry if this comes across as a total bump - it is.
thanks for the visits everyone, will try to get back to some of you!
    cheers!

But that's what makes them cool, the spontaneity, just as life is. The balance of control with chance. Don't change, add to that. Jes?
I know what you mean, tho. I guess decisions and control means understanding how an approach works and manipulating the results. I'm on the same path with me figs.
