definitely the second one
seriously, we just talked about the Aegean in my art history class and this sounds like a cool one,
lots of room for interpretation.

nice project again, it'll be interesting to see which minos, people decide to do,
nice start jessi, i like the sitting version best so far, has a more kingly feel to it, btw, which version you going for, the historical or underworld version?

Great topic! I'll have a crack at it again this week I think.

I like this topic, I'm going with the 'judge of the dead' version. Here's my sketch, he's sort of a mix of Sumerian and Greek (and also a hundred feet tall) .

thought id post this early this week, not last minute again, lol.
Anyway here my rough rough so far, probably going to keep him historicle minos, also concidering doing it black and white, im thinking the strong lighting and deep shadows would be very suitable this kind of image.

Here's a quick WIP, not sure if I'll continue with him or not. Needs more 'drama'.
Always strive for perfection. You will never achieve it, but will learn so much more in the striving.

Just wondering, is it the mythical Minos who became a "Judge of Death" and whos wife gave birth to the minotaur? Or is it the real king Minos who existed?

I'm assuming it's the "judge of death/lord of the underworld" one right? it would be pretty boring otherwise

Daestwen, welcome back! I've missed you
davidherd - muchas gracias, and an asspat right back at you. I like your beginning, I want to see more. Also, welcome to CHOW.
NARobles - I *am* excited... he has such an awesome story, as I'm sure you're aware. Good start, by the way, he looks all flowy... and kind of weighted down with a burden. I know it's a sketch, but watch how much he's leaning to the left there. If you want a dynamic post, punch it up, if not, straighten him out so he won't fall over. And paint! Now!
Mmm... more drawing... I think I'll get on the painting myself, now. No time to waste, LMS3 is on...

JessiBean Sorrysorry! I got siderailed by homework. But I love history, so I'm totally in on this one.
Though, all my research so far has convinced me of how badly I want to draw Minoan *girls*...
