yeah, I'd say that you've got this whole "landscape" thing down pat.

Really impressed with your work. Such an epic feel to each of them. Nice updates.

Fantastic Environments! Great atmosphere and sense of scale.
I especially like the city gates, and the wastelands. It looks like giant rib cages
    for bridges.

I notice in your enviros, especially the cityscapes, you have several small blots that represent lights and such. Here is a perfect example: http://www.jamespaick.com/images/ent..._port_full.jpg

Do you paint every single one of those small lights by hand? or do you use a different technique. Reason I'm asking, is because I think im taking the hard way out when I paint my enviros. Adding little details like that will take me hours upon endless hours I cannot afford to waste. Anyway, really i'd love to hear back from you James.

    Take care!

    Mick,
to answer your question, many times I do 1 of 2 things. Either I make quick suggestive lines and erase out in it to suggest lights, or I use a photograph of a city at night to help establish the look of tiny lights in a distance. You can paint every single light, but I would use the tools readily available for time sake. Also, be aware that these lights are compositional tools as well so placement and grouping is super important.
