The insect character is very nice. Nice line work too. For the practice, you are on the right track. Your proportion is good. Just one thing from me.. would like you to add more detail on your character. Keep it up! You are doing great.

Thank you for stopping by my sb!

I think the main thing you need to work on is drawing from life. It will greatly improve all parts of your drawing ability. For example, is see you are drawing a lot of pigs: draw a couple of different types of pigs in different poses from some pics. You can start changing shapes to give your pigs different personalities while still keeping the essence of a pig if you have an understanding of what a real pig is I challenge you to spend 30 minutes on one drawing as well. If you do one, I will too!

This is all very good advice. Your linework is getting more confident but you don't have much grasp on value / shading. If you want realism you need to draw from life and understand that shading / value = depth.

Thanks for commenting on my sketchbook thread. Keep drawing!

    Question Mosquito

I really have a hard time to draw him exactly the same way.
On this page I have another suggestion for a design.

Yinteck reminded me on a different design I had in my mind before I was getting to much into the insect design for legs etc.

Now he has shorts on and some slippers (right corner bottom !)
some how I think this works better than the more difficult design,
what do you guys think ??

This is a sketchbook. Ask a mod to move it please.

I didn't think it was possible to be called an artist when you have nothing to say. It's like being a writer who publishes individual words as books and expects to be praised for it.

You need to post the stuff from your other "SB" in the crit section here for us to get a more rounded view of your development. At the moment it looks like you're doodling with much thought as to where you want to go. The last couple of post gave you good advice, act on it.

    Shading

[QUOTE=Sigma]If you want realism you need to draw from life and understand that shading / value = depth.

Thanks Sigma for posting, I want to finish my Portfolio requirements where
I don't have to draw shandings, I think that's the different about Fine arts
    and Animation.
I try to do shading in my Carricatures but not for the portfolio peaces

    Portfoilio pieces and random

Thanks Pixi Tricks; Balck Spot; yinteck; sigma 6, I draw more from life and I am happy to see some more portfolio pieces done,....

Here's some new stuff, I took a lot of time for the Mosquito's heads, object and the two room drawings,
I already copied the object's and I will add snow on it, portfolio requirement.

The rough sketch Mosquito don't go in my portfolio, it's a idea for a pose.
The form drawing is one of my favorite warm up's I always do this Villpu stuff it improved my skills so much.

Hey M8, like you're cartoony work, in my opinion however you could really use some more anatomy studies etc. When you know how to draw a normal human body with the correct muscles and joints you will be able to create great cartoony people with very convincing poses and physical apearance.

    Grts!

Hey iven!! Thanks for stopping by my SB.

You're showing progress here but can I suggest doing some anatomy studies. You'll definitely see the benefit.

    Keep pushing yourself my friend!!

Hey Iven how goes it? You got a real knack with the caricature stuff and you seem to have the expressions down too if you want to get more realism in your work your gonna have to work more from life set up some simple objects and draw them or people whatever it is your into, but really sit and study whats in front of you look at how the light is behaving on the object look at the shadows and just try and put it all down on paper this is all stuff i am trying to drum into my head too! good luck my friend and keep posting!

I finished my Portfolio, I still could work on it but I don't want.
Now I just feel to draw my own stuff, after this Portfolio stress.
And here are 3 pieces I drew for my bro for fliers, electronic music.

Hey there, havent seen your SB for a while! Had to visit since you have the virginity of my sketchbook lol! good looking caricatures! You should pay more attention to the lines, make them cleaner, and use some more line weight to make them more lively!
