    Manki's Sketchbook!

I'm lookin' to level up my skills in drawing and I'm hoping a sketchbook here will help.
I'll post recent sketches and wip just to start out but i'm looking to work on my hands, anatomy and poses mostly. I'll post it as I draw it !
thanks for your clicking on my thread.

    Agreed, sweetness.

For criticism's sake, the piece of the horned girl eating the god-knows-what seems as though she may fall on her face standing like that. Unless she is leaning up against a wall of sorts. But who eats like that?

    Excellent stuff!

sorry this isnt a sketch- i do have some things i need to scan but today i felt like doing this. I took a really really old water color i did and wanted to redraw it - i always liked this old piece , i wanted to try it again. I'm trying some new things like , a different brush in photoshop and also trying not to zoom in and paint too soon.

    Ignominious- thanks

FunkdaFide- thanks so much for the crit. on that drawing i wanted her to be walking away with the heart but it does seem like shes just standing badly and not walking away. My efforts there were half hearted so thanks - I'll watch out for it.

    hi guys.
tough week for me because my cat is very sick and doesn't have very long.
but i decided to continue this because she likes to sleep on my lap when im on the pc.
So i am continuing this art that i posted last time.

Mr.Delicious: thanks man - your work is fucking ridiculous now ! great great stuff
Trashy: thank you trashy for stopping by - your b&w studies are really nice
Acro: hey im glad you like the trees and want to try some too. When i made that i was thinking to myself- "draw a happy tree, sad tree, sickly tree" ... Basically, try thinking of emotions and apply them to the tree. You don't have to get it right... actually i think i didn't succeed at all - haha. Its pretty fun.

*hope the image actually shows up this time and isn't just a link.

Wow. The last time I was here, I didn't even reach page two of my sketchbook.
    PATHETIC!
Anyway, I resigned from my job and I'm taking a break. I tried other forums but they don't seem to be as honest as this one. I want to get better. I don't post much here but I'm going to give it another shot. Like a shot with a shot gun. No... a rail gun!
Ok, here's a big nasty dirty dump. It's probably going to be too big to comment on.

Is it appropriate to show comic pages in sketchbooks?

I am really observing your work, these have a real modern design sense and are pushed even further by your figures. I'd love to see some of your drawings in hypercolors. I've also noticed your use of some conventional anime poses. I created a guide to typical anime poses on page 3 of my sketchbook. I hope you will make use of it in some way! Again I am enjoying your observations and your sense of humor! See more!

a la bapsi : Hey thanks for the confidence boost, and OOOOOOOOHHHH yea PAGE TWOOOOO. maybe? >.<

cout<mecha: I'm glad you are interested in observing my work. I really hope I get better. As for the anime poses, I never really thought I was using "conventional anime poses". I just try to draw what I see from life. That being said your saved poses are nice and well done. However, I'm a strong believer that I need to figure out how anatomy works by studying humans. If i don't see it in actuality, I'll never get it. thanks though.

Age: Ahhh.... * sigh* so far away from page 9. But maybe one day I'll be GOOD at drawing dudes. maybe at page nine.

HERE IS WHAT I SUCK AT: DUDES. FOR SHAME. I don't draw dudes well.
Today my sister had a baby so, quick update:
