Have been admiring the amazing work of Linran these past few days, and decided to give the method he details HERE a go. Went scouring through the 'paint from what does everyone look like?' thread in the lounge, and found this image from the lovely AmyRainbow and figured it would make a good guinea pig image!
Really like the effect building up from the shadows gives, though I still use the eyedropper too much for convenience, but was starting to get to grips with the rgb slider by the end. Also need to work on the directional strokes I put down first, I think, as I only have to work harder later to get the form to read properly. Added an anim gif to save on posting tonnes of wip images!

A caricature of my boyfriend, for his family for xmas. He's a human wearing a horde symbol because it's a caricature of him, not his character!
Angel uriel, done for one of 's challenges. First time working closely from a digital colour rough, and enjoyed the experience!
My first (and potentially last) Cintiq image. Done with a 12WX. If you have any experience with a 24" Cintiq, I'd love to hear from you in this thread: Reviews of the 24" Cintiq

Holy moly, how do you squeeze all that detail in? How do you 'plan' it out?
Beautiful, Articulate Work! Thank you for sharing this. I like KateyParr's question. I wouldn't mind reading your thoughts on how you think about designing/ planning a painting.
