The Ethereal Vow drawing wip and 5

hi, this is the lastest wip of my last self-thought drawing. i will go on to experiment more on different elements in art in the future also. doing art without reference is what i want to specialise in, so i hope to improve more on it.

here is a drawing i did, called The Ethereal Vow. its still in the wip stages. The shadings looks unbalanced thus i will refine the shades and details in the drawing and add more shades to her face and hands. The character i am drawing here is supposedly a mermaid. i intend to use the mermaid and prince concept to describe about love, true love in a way that i have not experienced. i will write down about what this drawing means. Critques are very much welcome!

this is the last wip. the above wip is a scanned. whereas the last wip, i took a photo of it using my handphone resulting in rather low quality. i have shaded more on her face and will carry on to do so. i'll be giving her scales and shading up her arm and hand. for the hand i think i have to study more hand anatomy to get the shading right. i'll be erasing some hair behind her shoulders to make the arm and back more proportionate to her face, as now her face appears abit too big for her arm. later which i will completing shading the flowers and the glowy/foamy bubbles, finish touching up her hair and i'm probably done with it so here is the drawing so far.

Hallo, wonderful drawing. I like what you'd done with her hair. The Face, especially the nose is much better on the second step. The ear needs a little more work i think. Its to bright and to slender in my opinion.

As you said the hand and the shoulder are the hardest part. The way she hold the flower looked a little bit stiff also the shoulder and the forearm seems to smal for the face. At least the fingers looked as they have all the same length. Mayby you can check it out with yourself in a mirror. And make a study befor reworked tis part.

    Hope this is helpful.
