Ah recognised some Hogarth stuff there. He has an interesting method, diff from Loomis. Which reminds me I still haven't gotten halfway through Dynamic Figure Drawing yet heh.

    Keep up the studies

hey dave i notice u r on ya way in terms of studying constructive anatomy. if theres one piece of advice i can give. make sure you study the mechanism of the body, basically how things work - the muscles/the bones/spine -weight distribution.
get into these before the surface - such as forced perspective/rendering. i have found that looking at animal anatomy extends your knowledge of the human anatomy, eg looking at a lions front leg shows the similarity to that of a human arm.

the Welly library has the two books 'Animal anatomy for artists' and 'Anatomicae' both are brilliant, if u cant find them, i have a copy of both so just get it off me.

keep your life drawing regular, i missed out on lifedrawing for a year before my major. I cant tell you how much that damaged my work. anatomy is the ultimate breaker between a pro and an amateur. so make sure u keep working at it mate!

have a search on the forum here for the name Cavematty, he has a lifedrawing thread, hes also a graduate of massey from a couple of years back. might provide a look at the next step for ya.

These latest ones are from Anatomy for the Artist by Jeno Barcsay studying the bones and how the muscles attach to them and also working on poses with the quick figures.

Your studies look very promising, those balance studies from your last post is a good idea to make studies of. Could we also see some work from imagination?
