Telvious - Thanks for stopping by
    Sublimus - Thank you!

I need to update more often!!

Here's some quick 1 minute gesture drawings I've been doing lately. Pose Maniacs a brilliant site!! Very very helpful for when I want to just sit down and do some quick gestures.

Lovin the speedpaints, I'm trying to get into those now for landscapes. Any tips? Oh and definite second on posemaniacs, don't know how I would learn to draw people without them!

Favorite of the thread was this, very warm rich colors, moody and calm. Water effect played a big role. Great speedpaint.

This morning sucked... our life drawing model didn't show up at all

ghoulio - Thanks on both counts

Leadster618 - Thank you. I suck at landscapes/environments and that's why I'm doing the speedpaints. Only tip I have is to use ref. Doing a speed paint of landscapes or portraits from reference photos has really been helping me out. There's only one rule which is NO COLOR PICKING! Try to figure out lighting and color without using the color picking tool and stealing it from the photo. Yes it's tempting but it won't help you at all. After a few speeds you'll notice that your accuracy for color choosing will get better. Also doing this from ref will help you build and mental library of color, shapes, lighting, and how differently textured objects look and behave under different lighting conditions. I really need to do more of those studies!. A fantastic photo ref website is http://www.pbase.com

I love the poses, and the boat speedpaint. Hell, I love everything in this thread.

    Good job.

Nice work here - good selection of stuff.

on the last speedpaints - maybe a little depth of field? the bottom right one has a good sense but the others edges are a bit sharp

    Smokey186 - Thank you

shamandalie - ummmm okay SURE! *HUGZZZZOMG

kidult - Thanks. I'm doing these studies manly for color. I'm not really focusing on form or subject... just trying to understand, see, and apply color. As for edges being a bit sharp, I'm mainly using the hard-round brush with opacity pressure sensitivity. I maybe use one other unique brush to add some noise or leaves. I'm trying not to use 20 brushes and making these finished pieces... just done quick to train my eyes. Down the road when I'm more confident with my color skills then I'll worry about the other elements of painting.

Here are yesterday morning's and today's speedpaints.
