Spartan Camp #16 - 50 gestures + Optional Study of the upper leg
The aim is to produce 50 gestures by Sunday the 28th of October.
The gestures can be of anything, human, animal, cavorting capybaras....and can be in any media, digi or traditional is fine.
In addition to this, participants can choose to do a study of the upper leg muscles, in any media. Black and White or Colour is fine.
Come on soldiers! Flex those muscles!!
PS...critting each other is highly encouraged!! Let's help each other get better!
HALL OF FAME - SPARTAN CAMP #15
PS/PS: if anyone has some idea's for the Optional Studies please let me know. Thanks.

maybe some fun optional studies could be good, like super heroes with extra large beer bellies or sky diving creatures or humans, with no parachutes. Or simply studies of hands or feet, since they seem to be one of the more difficult parts of the body to draw.

What an interest all of the sudden.. hope everyone can free up some time. Looking forward to the rest.
Vigilandus; Some of the poses are a bit stiff, guess those are for proportions though? I'd recommend some more fluent lines and such, I've noticed many people use smooth lines to outline the direction and curves in the body. On the other hand, some of them (especially the last) look pretty good, so I'm not quite sure what to think. Diverse drawing style i guess? Clean lines, and nice to see some top and bottom views as well.
Asatira; Just noticed they're on a 1min timer. See if you can work softer in the beginning, and then nail the pose with some strong lines once you've got the general shape down. (Works for me, at least. My stuff tends to get messy). Couple of complex poses among them. Think you're on the right track, keep at it
Had trouble finding good upper leg ref. Gestures from imagination. At least I succeeded in not postponing it till Sunday evening this time.

Anthis: Thanks for the crit. Yeah, the scribbly-ness has been brought to my attention before. Part of me likes it, especially if it adds to a sense of movement, but the other part sees that it's really messy and can make it hard to read. I chalk it partly to being rusty.
Here's the last of my gestures, 37-50. Haven't done the limb study yet, so there's one more post left. Again, done from reference, 1min.

Asatira - Good, nice you could finish them all, hope you will join next week too
Anthis - cool! as usual, nice studies. Are you taking refs from comic books? you poses look like poses in comic books.
Here are mine, 50 hands

Hurley Very nice. I like how you caught the musculature, and really like the legs.

Asatira; Yea, those 1mins are a good practice if you're rusty. Where do you get your ref for those? just random searching or any specific place?
MeTaL-Mike; Thanks. Sometimes I can't get anything going, but this time I did like 40 of them in 1 go. Didn't need ref, and I was in the mood for these kind of poses. Just had a good day I guess, usually need loads of ref.
You're doing hands again Only good thing about hands is that you're never short on ref... Some hands and arms are a bit thin perhaps. Tough exercise though. Off topic; like the way you arrange the gestures, I usually end up counting several times -.-
Hurley; Hello! Thanks, and hope to see you next time as well.
Those are some interesting studies. Are you using bridgman for ref? Looks like it, at least. Pretty solid work.
