cool. Nice solid linework - and an interesting story and characters.

The only thing I can nitpick about is the perspective on the first panel panning down from the top of the town to the bottom of the characters. The perspective seems to be either too distorted, or not distorted enougth, or there is not enough evidence of perspective lines through detailed scenery to convince my eyes of the illusion. Hope this helps.

    My sketchbook is here

    Wip

So I am probably using my sketchbook in the wrong way... but I dont really feel like having a buncha different threads.. One for sketchbook, one for WIP, one for finials.. anyhow.. I'll take opinions if you've got em on the matter... This is a WIP I'm gonna paint it up I left the feathers kinda open so I can play with texture in PS... It's going to be a self promo piece kind of a banner type of thing...

So... in an effort to work up my painting skills I am trying out some still lifes starting with the apple exercise. I stayed true and did not allow myself to use blending modes to mix colors.

sooo...I guess this will be my first actual sketchbook entry in my sketchbook.. I'm going to try to make it more of a habit. YAY? Some of it is pencil (from my sketch book) and a few are me screwin around with the 6D pen in PS.

great linework! and i really love the chinese face top left in your last one...great!

Maybe work a bit on your values in your colored work...most of them could use
more value difference...for example the very first one in your first post, it looses
the focus a bit because the values are quite similar...it would work better if you
push back the dragon and the girl further back with darker colors...to get the
focus more on the guy which could be a little more saturated...........hope you know what i mean...

    keep em comin!!

    Cheers

    Andi

Great line work. Combined with your black placement, it establishes the form well. Keep it up!

ok.. todays sketchbook entry.. kinda lazy.. yes.. but here it is. Also my thumbs for a new comic pitch I am working on.

Delmar (Andi) - Thank you for the constructive crit. I agree.. I need more lighting drama in my painted work.

    Senira - ty

VilleK- I assume you mean the inked pages.. yeah they are a bit too small.. I will reload larger scans soon.

I need to start drawing for Deep... hmmm...

so, I've been busy working.... figured I'd post these inked pieces I did last month...

Hybrid_75: ty, I liked your batpig for CoW.

Ash888 : Well my degree is from Long Beach State.. but I would say most of my real education as an illustrator came from Marshall Vandruff. If you are a So. Cal. artist find him and learn from him.

Thanks, I liked the technique on yours but when I compare it to all your stuff here it's not as strong.
    Those latest inks kick ass!

These are pretty hip, I don't think you'll ever have to worry about falling into the "Find the Seven Crystal McGuffins!" trap that lurks around every corner of comics writing. I especially like that squid woman on the first page, she has every right to look as confused as she does.

These are a lot of fun. More!

Hybrid_75: ty. Yeah I think I need to really let go of the lines when I paint I have a tendency to feel weird about 'covering' them with color.. If I get time to do this Deep thing I will concentrate on either making the lines work or painting em over.

Nuke15 : I appreciate accolades.. Not entirely happy with my style.. its a bit all over/ little too cartoony in my eyes.. but keep me posted as I develop. thx.

Frogisis : Nice!.. I had to look up "McGuffin" but I think now that I know the term I'll be using it alot more.

Here is a concept I did for the book I am working on.. Inks with quick PS colors... they are "feeder humans".. The feedback I got from the writer is gonna change em a bit and hopefully I'll have that piece up soon.
