A little digital sketch to practice drawing older people. I notice for manga I almost always draw young, handsome people.

Woa, gone for three years already
I'm kinda surprised my sketchbook and account are still alive. Haven't posted a thing in 3 years. Well time to make a comeback here's a selection of some of the stuff I've done in the meantime

Very nice sketchbook, needs more updates And I think many of the drawings could be improved by a more realistic style.
Do you just use painter and pencil sketches?

Here you go update it is! ^^ 2 Ursula drawings one Sketch in Photoshop and 1 Speedpainting in Painter.
For the young ursula there's a little description:
I started thinking, what if, Ursula was very similar to Ariel when young. Full of dreams, wanting something. But unlike Ariel she never got it. Perhaps the necklace is of a lost love. So she grew bitter and vengeful. Well that was the premise for this speed painting here.
Oh I know she hasn't got yellow eyes, but it fit so well that I had to use it. (and apparantly she was already well endowed from an early age )
I use both photoshop and Painter, really depends on my mood and what effect I want to achieve. I find the UI of the latest photoshop really really nice. But the blending effects in Painter are unmatched (in a perfect world the two would have a lovechild) and no the new brushy mode in Photoshop doesn't count. I don't like that one, one bit.
Regarding a realistic style. I adjust it according to the subject matter. If it calls for a realistic rendition I'll nudge it that way. vice versa.
