Deco & van: Many thanks, friends!

Icey:I´m really sorry for updating my sketchbook so rare. I´m really happy that I have a lot of work, but I definately have to reserve more time to sketch and study. I have bougt a very interesting book from Charles Bargue with 50 great anatomy drawings. I do copy these drawings constantly. I have filled 3 Sketchbooks since the Amsterdam Workshop with C. Bargue Studies. 2/3 are Ref Drawings like page nr. rs078, 1/3 are No Ref Drawings. Sometimes I draw the same figure 10 times or more in a row. A very good lesson , but absolutely boring to show and post.
Hooray, at Saturday I will be for 12 days on holiday. I want to fill a Sketchbook in these days too, but again, with "boring" Bargue Drawings.

Back from my toooo short holidays! 8)
Here is some of the stuff that I did in Portugal.
The knights are out of my head, the other pages are Ref from C. Bargue and the Master Blaster Andrew Loomis.

it´s was about time for you to get back to your desk where you belong!
travelling all around germany for caricature sessions is enough holiday for ones like you! and now log off and draw and paint and work till 6 am, because
that´s most likely not gonna happen when you get your hands on the new books

very nice ultra slick stuff you´ve got there!

ahhh... time runs fast my friend.
    Very sweet stuff as always.
I love the left Knight. Even if I don't get where the Lightsource comes from this is really nice. The clothes on the right one are nice too. I think I need to do some Cloth studies....

    Regards,
    Karim

    Great Stuff!!!

Loomis hits home with a lot of people particularly illustrators ~ most people don't know he was a student of Bridgmans as was Rockwell.
    Keep up the good works!!

    Hi Robbie!

Nice to see you posting again. Good work as usual. I really envy your clean rendering style - you´ve got the patience I´m laking at the moment.

Hope we´ll see us again in the next time (unfortunately not in Berlin)

    Fipse

Well rendered ~~ noses have same characteristics ~~~ I think you may be drawing your own nose ~~~ I tend to draw mine a lot.

    Many thanks, dear visitors!

I started to do more with oils. Here are some small Frans Hals copies.

Yesterday night I started to do a van Dyke copy. The underpainting (picture) was O.K., but then I was too unconcentrated to put the colors right. I messed it up and I won´t finish it , but I learned a lot .

Some Scribbles. Mix of Ref, Life and No-Ref.

    Outstanding

well this is just incredible, some of the best traditional media I've seen here for ages. Your hand studies are also fantastic. I mean I paid money for that stuff not 2 weeks ago. Im sorry, but I must ask how long you've been drawing for.

Hey Robulus, i am a noob at drawing, and when I see your stuff, I am sure you could give me some good advices for improvement. Much of your works are copies of old master drawings. I do copy master drawings often too, but I dont know if I am doing right, do I really improve when I copy other peoples works? Or should I draw more from life.

PS: Wäre nett wenn du mal in meinem Daily Sketchbook vorbeischauen würdest um mir ein paar tipps zu geben.
