Hey Ana, thanks for the tip !
Hehe Braintree, I must agree with you .
Hi Grafguy, that's great to hear .

This morning I had the feeling I wanted to create some character so I started with fashion studies:
    Attachment 725632 Attachment 725633
and I did this stupid page, faces from references:
    Attachment 725634
And then the character, but I really had the feeling I learned nothing new or something like that, so I got bored :

Hi lyno! about the character, i think his shoulder is placed alittle too far down compared to where the neck ends.
Nice skin tones, i can never get those to read .. human.

Watch your going is great, try some gesture studies too their very usefull to catch the essence of the pose quickly and without trouble.

The last painting you should put more rosyness on the parts where the blood flow is more noticeable(cheeks, nose, etc.) just to give it some hint of life, and your going in the right path in anatomy.

Ill keep an eye on ya

    I'm sorry Sublimus , thanks man .
    Thanks for the tip B-Man!
Da-mit Braintree, you're totally right, thanks man. About the skin tone stuff, more colour studies I think?
Thanks Ana for pointing those things out . Tomorrow I'll do some gesture studies. I've got some prints of "Gesture drawing for animation" by Walt Stanchfield.

Today I did this face. Trying new stuff, like smoothing things out. I also took some time to work on my hair rendering.

and the piercing in the lip isnt correct, its like haflway through the lip instead of all around it

Lyno you have 894 attachments to your thread!!! freaking awesome . Ill throw a party in the Lounge when you reach 1000 .

As for the portrait i find that the area around the eye farthest away looks a bit strange. Take a look on post #422 again. You still need the eye-socket curve.

You're getting better at form, and i'd like to see your landscapes develop from being roughs to larger pieces.

Also, well done with the head. Just try to rearrange the ring, it sort of looks as if it may be in the wrong area...

Hi Grafguy, tried to use more reds in this skin studie.
    Haha, thanks Fumble .
Thanks NanoBlack, I'll try to do more environments, I also think it's time to get started with those .

Here is the somewhat fixed version of that previous face:

And a skintone studie, tried some new things:

Your skin tones studies are really nice, i personally have a trouble with pale skintones, but i guess if you master the default one you can master the others easily.

    Nice work

    nice study
though... her left foot looks like a right one
use some darker shadows, like between her legs and where the arms come near the body
but it reads very well even as a thumbnail, good job

Nice post dude! Watch out for the face though - looks like it got away from you a bit. The whole thing is tilted, and the nose in in the wrong perspective.

    Looks good though!!
