decided to bust out the pencils last night and go at it with a robot and see what came out of my head
also threw in some environments as well just for kicks.
also here's a motorcycle i'm working on from photo ref i took MONTHS ago while walking to work.
probably no more than 30mins in, measured once just to make sure parts were in the right places.
your perspective skills have really improved through the pages along with your life drawings, just keep hacking away at the tree of knowledge.
Not sure if your still looking for textures as you mentioned on page 1, if you are here's a cool site - http://cgtextures.com/ - the only hiccup is that you can only download 15MB a day but the textures are very good and include a lot of ref for vehicles and machine parts.

WHOAH you colored those awesome little thumbs! Sweet! But you should paint on top of the lines too not just under - then even in a small thumb you can get some atmospheric perspective going. Ready for another happy funtime trip to sf this weekend? Didja see Iron Man?

Maidith thanks! the trick i find to coming up with ideas is really simple. REFERENCE A TON OF REAL LIFE STUFF there's all sorts of cool things in nature that could keep you busy for years trying to analyze and break down. So with something like aquatic ships/machines i'll take a look at fish and try and figure out how a machine would pull off what a mako shark does (for example). Also, sometimes it's just a lot of tweaking an existing design that i liked, there's a lot that has to be said for simple experimentation.
Lastly (but most importantly): never be afraid to try something, if it doesn't work no big deal just give it another shot until you get something that does.

Hey there, cool stuff you got going on here. I think you need to pay more attention to the skeletal structure of your figures, a lot of them look floppy.
i enjoy your sketches, they are inspiring
you ships are almost all the same, just with a different width / height, i think you could change them up by using some different shapes. it seems you really like the large windshield that is compltly rounded, possibly drawing some old school jeeps / half ton trucks will give you some different ideas as far as shapes roll.

Cool sketches! I sort of agree about the ships. It isn't so much that they are the same size/shape, but you are using those little rectangle wingy things on every single design. Try moving away from a single useful design motif, and really push the shapes. Think of space-only ships; they don't have to be aerodynamic. A flying box is every bit the same as the most streamlined jet you'd ever see in space.
