These aren't really concept art, Amazing dream etc, updating!!!

Hiya, First time here, fantastic forum and great quality art work indeed!

Some of my pen and ink drawings on A3 and A2 cartridge paper, made them in the past 10 years or so.

The Amazing dream I did it in 2004 for some exhibition in London, spent almost 3 months on it, not everyday of course( I still have a job somewhere)

Very old school stuff hope you like it and comments welcome. Although it's too late to change anything.

    Cheers

Simply amazing. I always love seeing traditional media on CA, and it's a shame it's so rare.
I can imagine how tedious this piece was. I'm currently working on a life size ink (crosshatched) rendering of both the skeletal and muscular structure of the human body. I'm sure you had to take quite a few breaks while doing this piece!
    Again, amazing piece; well done.

Edit: What are the dimensions of this piece? I'm curious to know.

    Beautiful.
This kind of style was very popular for children's book illustration in the late sixties and seventies, it's a shame it's fallen out of fashion.

    Jisae, A3 paper = 297 x 420mm/11.7 x 16.5" (a.k.a "tabloid size")

VERY cool! That's an incredible amount of work but it sure has paid off. Excellent piece.

Hey thanks Elwell, I should have looked it up myself I suppose. I just wasn't sure if that kind of paper was multiple size or a single size. I am enlightened, now.

Do you happen to have a full resolution scan? I'd love to see it in actual size like the wip scan.

    I love trad!

Everyone knows I love traditional pen and ink drawing in this old fashioned "etching-style" in the tradition of Dore, Virgil Finlay and Frank Kelly Freas, Wrightson etc. I take my hat off to you (well, if I wore one indoors, which I don't) for this smart piece.

Thanks! All of you, I do have around 30 pieces of engraving style works, most of them are in A3 size, three in bigger A2 size, those stuff took me more than 10 years, and each of them takes at least 3-4 months, All of them I have done without any photo reference. Draw several rough sketch at the exact location is a must. The rest rely on imagination then.

It looks to be more or less hatching and cross hatching. With some dimensional lines to imply form. To me eyes at any rate. Stippling is creating form using just dots. Whatever the case, yeah, that's a beautiful piece of ink work. It reminds me a great deal of Patrick Woodruffe's ink work. Or even Socar Myles, whom i'm sure some of you know from here and elsewhere on the net.
