    count: Thanks much for the kind encouragement

    RandAI: You are too kind! I'll definitely keep trying.

    =====================================

    Haven't updated for a while, semi large dump again... haha... busy busy busy. Changed the character some. I also sculpted out the creature head concept using super sculpy. It's nowhere near done but we weren't given much time to work on it. I might try to finish it on my own eventually.

    Lotet: Thanks a lot! I'm having trouble with facial structures for sure. Time to do a couple of weeks of focused practice... been focusing on too many other things and some basic stuff got lagged behind :|

    update: Finished (project-wise. I'd love to touch it up later.) environment #1. #2 is in the oven.

    just wanted to say you're getting tons better! like the girl char in #121, the only problem is maybe watch how useful a lot of the stuff on her is...I understand that she's probably steampunky and mechanic-ish but her accessories almost seems a bit random in some places.

    hp: Thanks a lot! Her outfit is probably going to go through a major revision around the end of the term, since I did notice a lot of people being bugged by her metal bras Her accessories are kind of random because she is a treasure hunter for pre-historical stuffs (known to us as everyday objects.)

    lilnebo: Thanks a lot! Your hardwork on your SB is very inspiring.

    Update. Having a bit of mid-term slack-off tendency lately, and had to do some team game last-minute assets as well. Early wip of the interior environment.

    i think you could sharpen some edges in your pic...i know everything is worn down but almost everything has round forms.

    great colors and lighting.

    hp: Thanks! I'm afraid of putting sharp edges and lines in my paintings for some reason. Slowly getting over the line fear though, so hopefully sharp edges will come soon

    rawr: Thanks lots!

    Arrowhead: thanks a lot I had to use sculpy for a design class before, but this is the first real sculpy sculpture I tried to do. We were not given much time so it actually came out ok I think... but it's far from done and I hope I eventually get around to finish it.

    Copperfire: Thanks a lot! I'll keep trying in hopes of getting better.

    ======

    update: 2 more enviros for the concept art school project. They are faster and dirtier than the first 2, and I purposely used another technique as I'm still in the experimentation phase. The first one is pretty much done and the 2nd one is in its early sketchy stage.

    Lair: thanks a lot! I did a lot of environments because i couldn't draw backgrounds for my character. Now it's back to my character that sucks more, haha.

    Very nice progress you've made. Only thing I've noticed is that your perspective is a little bit wonky... but as your paintings are so cute and warmly made it kind of gives it that magical feel, not perfectly aligned with perspective. Thou you should use a vanishing point to really nail those images. Just some constructive critique for what it's worth. Have a wonderful day.

    Edit:
    I love that boat picture. Thou I don't really think the sunlight glow fits... it's too yellow and blurry... and maybe too much visible.
    Edit2: Oh, and your avatar picture is so cute.

    kenjitsu: Thanks much! I battle with perspective a lot. I think I might need to practice caligraphy or something to increase my consistency in drawing.

    ===============

    WIP for CHOW and final for EOW this week. rushing again, as usual, hehe... Really wish i had more time and energy for EOW. It's not often I can come up with such a fun shape to work with

    i actually kind of liked your previous sketch of the CHOW...I don't know why but the muscles seemed to have more dynamism. If somehow you could make the machine aspect more organic looking like the sketch, i think it would look awesome.

    for the EOW, I think there needs to be something in it that establishes scale, for some reason everything looks kind of short.

    great colors on it though.

    hp: Thanks a lot!! I drew the beast as a machine because I felt like drawing machines per your advise I pulled up the rough sketch and tried to develop the mechanical part somewhat fitting to the flow. I hope I managed to capture some of the energy in the sketch.

    Lakka: Thank you for the kind words! I'll definitely keep myself busy

    Wow, all you do is so impressive - you have such a wide range of skills! You seem to go to the kind of art education I would love to have, too - a bit of 2D and a bit of 3D and sculpting and all. I really wish I had been braver (or gotten more encouragement) when I was younger, instead of being told that "art is no career and you will just go hungry all the time". Now I have to drag myself through it all on my own, which is way harder. You go girl, you have the makings of a fine concept artist already!

    Grace - I'm loving the various props, the big mechani-man, the beast head sculpt! You're making great things here! The thing about your environments is that they are really well balanced and inviting... With each of these, it's easy to picture being in a game and seeing that and being filled with curiosity about what's over there, and what's down that way, and ooh - can I get up there? Whatever various technical issues you've yet to resolve, you've got a solid aesthetic base that you're launching from, and it works. Keep it up!
