Whoa WOW whoa whoa. This...this is great stuff. This is a new favorite sketchbook thread for me, is this is all one project you're working here? I have a lot of respect for your work ethic and the quality of the work you're putting together. Your designs are really impressive and I appreciate the fact that you don't neglect studies, you have a great understanding of light...man I have so much to learn! Sweet book, I'll be checking back in!

Love the sketches...there's tons of energy and life in your lines...some killer work. The enviros are really nice. I'd like to see some of these things taken into greater detail, like you were mentioning.

im noticing i always pop hips out a bit too much amongst other things. better get back to basics. get my anatomy clear.

Heres one of a mate i did this morn. really should fix up that blade. its not sitting right. stuffing up the perspective.

and trying out a different approach with some fleshed out thumbs. style inspired by Joshua J Shaw. cheers for the inspiration man.

Kingkostas- thanks man. yeah the anatomy is killing me right now! ka pow!

not sure why im fiddling with this :|

some ppl studies from various stock photo albums

I really need to push myself and finish a piece of work instead of leaving it half done like always. so i thought id start with this one i started last night. at the moment im still having trouble with the pose. arm isnt sitting right and ive looked at it for too long and now everything looks fugly! a second pair of eyes would be great.

this is me playing with arms. do any of these look right?

or maybe i should just do this haha

Nice hitch hiker. Maybe you could correct the perspective problem but painting the front foot and pelvis a bit more from the top.

Like everything in post #167, from the color palette to the poses and character design.
Great rim-highlighting on the hitchiker, makes him pop.
Looking forward to future updates on it!

great stuff dude. all of it. the hitch hiker looks sweet to. i think one thing that's weird when i look at it is that it looks like the car lights from behind him are only at his feet. And if the only light source is from behind him, his chest would probably be a little darker.

Fable- thanks man, definitely going to go back and do that. i think i might just loose the car all together tho looks crap lol.

Braintree- thanks man, yeah id very much like to go finish the soldier chick. That will be one of my aims this week.

Mayday-thanks man, yeah too right. i was going to add a secondary light source, a street lamp or something perhaps. lost alot of motivation for that one but i think its probably still worth finishing.

    Buckster- Cheers man. Will do.

thanks for all the help guys! ill post up some more on those in the next few weeks.
Heres a few more from the last 2 weeks.

im trying to push myself to finish stuff. im getting a little closer. but still need to go a lot further.

    hope you enjoy

    cheers

cool SB, I like the scene concepts and the goat is awesome also... but I do agree that you should try to get more stuff completed (though im not one to talk!)

also, It would be cool to see you experiment with brushes a little more, sometimes I find the indicial markings of the square one a bit too obvious!

but I get it, it maybe a style choice, just a thought anyway.
