    Welcome to CA.
This looks like a good start to a sketchbook. Your figures have very energetic line work.

Watch the lengths of your necks though. Several of them are a bit too long.

As the ego shrinks, so the spirit expands.

ok heres a few concepts of some characters im doing for a class project. the theme lies somewhere between urban free running and gang warfare. theres huge lack of movement in these drawing but i thought id come to that later

guess ive been trying out a few new programs of late. experimentation is so much fun! got to have a play in mud box a few months back, i cant believe how awesome this program is! this is my first time sculpting and it was just so easy to get the hang of.. i can only imagine what professionals would be like! defiantly recommend it to anyone who hasnt tried it! anyways duration is 2hours with a basic template head. i know theres some really amazing artists out there, so any guidance would be greatly appreciated aye. thanks for checking it out

lol hey heres the first layout of a little comic ive drawn. its for a self promo assignment at poly. no text in it yet, so the story doesnt make sense... well it probably doesnt make all that much sense anyways. the drawings are pretty sketchy still. anyways tell me what u think so far. oh and if a image crosses over the page that means its going to be a pop up.

the story is supposed to follow this urban free runner out on a run. the text will talk about his training, how every little bit he learns makes him more efficient and so on. then camera zooms out a little and we realize that it was all a game. and then the person playing the game(lets call him dane) goes and starts drawing. we now realize that all talk of training was about this character and his training in the arts.... errrrr? the text will have a massive roll in this. so i dont expect anyone to get it yet. cheers on any advise to make this piece the best that i can.

Thanks for the visit. I'm glad, because it led me to your sketchbook. Nice energy here. I don't know what your goal was for those first few figure drawings, but I really like them. They ended up a little distorted, but that distortion gave them character. If you were going for accuracy, slow down, carefully identify your shapes. If you were going for gesture and character, SWEET. I think that your comic has the same charm that those figures do- just enough distortion to make it interesting. I really like the way its going.

It's great that you are breaking out the norm and going into the enviros. good ideas, good thumbs. I am, however, going to call you on your verticals. Inconsistent verticals can throw the whole image. Just something to keep in mind, I guess. I only bring it up because there are also a few places in your comic that need some attention, but I'm sure you'll fix it by the time its done.

Nice start to a sketchbook. I hope to see more...

PS- the link in your signature gave me a little trouble--I had to go through your profile to get to your thread. You might want to check it, or it could just be my computer.

hi there! good sketchbook start. The comic seems to be going somewhere, cant say yet where though, since theres no text yet try to watch your line quality though, most of the times one good line works better then a lot of short ones. i see a lot of messy lines in the comic character, would look better if u fixed that i think!

Sedig- hey thanks. yeah not to sure what the focus was there. it was a long time ago hehe. probably drawing absent minded. heh.
oh thats so true.i just realized all the wak verticals after you said. thanks man. im drawing with a tablet(which im not used to) so my lines are going everywhere. plus its for an assignment that i thought was due tomorrow(stress) but its actually not till May. so now i can take my time and fix those up hehe. oh and thanks for the heads up on the link. it should be coming to the right place now. cheers

Ajvenema- thanks man. i hope it is too. yeah i agree with the line work. i wish i was doing it by hand, that way i would have more control. thought id try out the sketchiness see how it goes. but i agree with you so far. heh. chur

today ive started my daily training exercises(chur Mischeviouslittleelf). try and get myself disciplined in the arts. haha. thought id try and do 3 reference photos a day. around 15-20 mins each. kinda got a bit carried away with it 2day tho. seeming as how im so slow. im sure the speed will come.

    18mins

    25min

    and 35min.

once again any advise is greatly appreciated.

I really like your comic piece. Can't wait to see it with the pop-outs in it! Your digitals are improving quickly & your pen style is nice, fast and sketchy. Can't really help with finishing the piece in the last post, sorry! SB is looking great though. Keep updating!
