    Armoured Horse sculpture

Well time to stop lurking and come out.
I thought I'd share my latest project and see if I could get any crits or love.
It is a 15" model for a life sized sculpture that I plan on finishing in 08. I have just finished massing out the body and am just starting to add the armour and smooth out the details.

I love it! what was it done in? looks like grey Chavant. Did you buy the rake tools that you used or custom made? Watched John Browns video (gnomon) and he said made his with dremmel tool.

OMB: Actually it's Klean Klay and I use a mix of both hand made and bought tools. I'll have to take a picture next time to show them.

zenichi: Most of what is hanging on my wall is reference material. I tend to gather it aroung me so that whenever I have a question there are a tom of pictures from every imaginable angle to help me figure it out.

The last pic is a stack of photos from a horse show.

And the latest. A little more armour and smoothing out some of the rake marks.

Most of the work was on the rear although I did add some reins.

I know that the back leg looks funny in the last pic just wanted to say its already been fixed.

I'm not a pro at horse anatomy, but the neck looks awkward to me. It seems like it's too long and its' starting to look more serpentine then horse.
