ok quick question I know it says number them all, but if I am doing a grid can I number then like a graph (as in 1-10 down the side and 1-10 along the bottom (I pressume the numbering is to make it easy to tell knowone is pulling a quickie (shame on anyone planning to do 99 and pass them off as 100)?

90 done, more to go tonight, looks like I may have time to tweek the crappy ones

My trip sucked... the laptops battery was shot so I only did 10.5 this weekend. Also on the plane coming home, after an hour and 30 minute delay the stuartist yelled "Everyone get off the plane! Now! Leave all of your belongings!" everyone ran out of the plane freaking out... there was some rediculous reason about a trafic cone being in the way or something. Just a tad over reacting huh?... I have 58.5. It's 1:30 AM and I still have homework to do... give me a break.

I think it is better if everyone puts the number next to each creature...you can make the number very small, just make sure you can read it.

Wow guys, this comp is pretty intense and I really can't wait to see the end products of this.

Don't loose heart yet! You've still got a week and a day to get them done, just think how awesome it will be when its over.

Congrats to those who've already made 100.

    Thanks :::rain:::!

I just finished my layout for the final, but now I have some technical questions. Normally I would stick a COW entry on Photobucket, but this one is over 3MB, which is over their limit per image. Is there another place I can host it or a way I can compress this? I'm not the most tech-saavy when it comes to smushing or zipping larger files down smaller. Or are we sending the JPGs to Fozzy this time? If these questions were answered before, I apologize, but I'll never find the answers in the previous 20-odd pages of text.

At the end of the day, I actually overshot the mark by losing count as I worked. I ended up with 104. hee hee.

edit 30 minutes later: photobucket resized to 500px square it automatically, but I was able to host it on my own site. Fozz, can I send you that kind of URL or does it have to be an image tag?

Man I am panicking at 80. I'm not sure when I will get free time again. Keep having to sneak off to "meetings", if you know what I mean.

so we don't need to submit any images before the final image on the 30th right? just making double sure.

Well, if there are already visual orgasms, I may have to buy a workshop ticket after all.

Thanks for the heads-up, but I'm already fairly certain that, once the dust settles, my proverbial doors/socks will be at least 50-100 yards away. I do have the "I only had 13 days" fallback excuse... but I'm not gonna use it. When it comes down to it, this is actually a lot of fun. (dodges flying mice, tablets and styluses from other COW participants)

That said... halfway home! 51 done so far. And, since I mentioned my best day in my last post, my worst day was 2 designs on Thursday, 10/18/2007.

In addition to enjoying this project (dodges another barrage of computer peripherals), part of the reason I'm doing this is to get over the initial "that's impossible" reflex. I've excluded myself from many a competition because of it, and it's time to take it to task. "100 illustrations in 13 days? Impossi... no, wait... screw it. I'm in!"

Congratulations to all who have finished, and here's hoping I'll be joining you soon!

My job requires that I draw real world things, very precisely. Consequently it is difficult to be terribly creatively, excited about the end product.

This particular contest opened the creative floodgates. I feel like I have gained something really valuable from it already, and I've still got 20% to go.

This contest might be hard, and suck up all of your available time, but damn, it is soo worth it.

I just made my most boring creature ever! Blast! I was hoping to keep them all, but this one simply has to go... I will redo it tomorrow, and since I'll break my "keep-every-creature"-rule, I might as well pick out the worst five and replace them with something better... That means 25 to go... starts jogging.

I think I can relax... there is plenty of time yet.
Btw. Have anyone counted the number of known participants in this celebration?

I need a clarification, maybe it should go in the workshops forum. If we get done with the 100 creatures do we get a small extension on buying our workshop tickets at the discount? Was that mentioned somewhere?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I'm freaking out! I only have 64 done so I still have over a third of the way to go! I've got school and work all the friggin time and I'll be on some trip next weekend with limited work time! 36/7=5.14
I hope I can do it. Is it 23:59 german time or local time because I'd only have til about 3 pm to work on it. I hate a lot of them and some are basically just real creatures with abscure adaptations like a dolphin with 3 eyes or something. I need to re-do a bunch but I doubt I'll have time
I pray to Artemis to finish these in time...

    Thanks for the smacking
My rear is in gear and I have a steady 10/day the last two days. You know before this I was more or less able to count the number of paintings I had done. After this it's going to be over a hundred
I'm really learning alot. Thanks for doing this.
