Art school statement of purpose?
Who had to write one? Are there any (generic) examples of these online?

Think about why you want to be part of this program. What are your long term goals? Why do you feel this program will suit your "purpose?" You can start by just making a list for yourself. Look over your list and further refine your thoughts . Then, try ordering your thoughts into a coherent statement.
The school is trying to find out who you are and how much thought you've given to your future goals and how to achieve them. They will also want to know why you think the program you are applying for is the right one for you.

That's a start. Thanks. I read somewhere that you shouldn't elaborate on anything found on your resume. Is that true? I had someone read my first version and was told that I put too much info. An example (generic one) would help tremendously, though. I forgot to mention that this would be for grad school.
