giving ca a go:first ff post

first of all thx to ca for putting such an inspirational website on the net with so many talented artists. ca means so much for me.

euhm scanner really f****ed up the image(if anyone can give me any tips on solving that let me know)
but you get the picture(try to imagine the shading a little bit smoother)

been trying out some aspects of isrics(matt rhodes) style, so my deepest gratitude and respect for him

this was done with mechanical pencil on smooth A3 paper
with picturereference but with some changes(face, gloves)

5hours of work(to damn long but i'll try to do faster in future)

brutal C&C always welcome (in a polite way ofcourse )

i have been intensively drawing for a year now,in a kind of preparation year at antwerp. i wanna to do animation next year in brussels or illustrative art(if that's even a word in english)

anyway cya all and get those crits flowing
(if the image doesnt show up for any reason let me know, i think i exceeded something, and check back after an hour)

i like the overall feel for sure. the whole pose/emotion is totally sweet. I think maybe...(this might ruin it, so think about it first) more shadows/.heaveier would spice it up. it's all sorta one plane now, which works for the feel, but the image might improve if you do a little more in the way of depth.
Ok, the hack and slash: for me at least, anatomy can make or break a piece, especially one like this,. saying such...
anatomically, the hands are off. get some better reference for em.
the legs/pelvic region seems really off too. maybe improving the detail/shape of the pants might help this
    now...the face...
much as i like the emotion, and expression, it seems off. I think it's the eyes, but also the super defined lip area (where little else is defined) might be doing it
again, for all these problems, shading or color or just value might fix em almost 200%
but hey, what do i know
I would love to see this as some sort of finished piece...not that i really know what you have in mind for it, it's cool.

Everything's great but the legs need more blending...

Those are some sexy leggs too so I wouldn't mind seeing MORE! :hearts:

thx for the replies would like more from other artists too though

i'll try shading it but i'm quite afraid it will loose the linework then.maybe i'll try something with colours, still am stuck on the legs wouldnt know how to solve them  (HEEEEELLUUPP MEEE ).

about the pelvic/tummy region: i wanted it to be not really a belt but more like a corset(i hope this is a word in english, in medieevil times women used to wear this to make their tummy more slim and there breasts more "wonderbralike")

the hands are very off indeed should draw more hands before i try to draw gloves

    thx
