Most of the following stuff was done for my portfolio over the last six to eight months. I tried to cover different areas like Illustration, Concept Art etc.
My Website is at: http://www.drakken.de
Comments to my illustrations and website are really appreciated.
I also switched often between Photoshop and Painter, because i was not able to opt for one of them...which would be better because i don't know either PS or Painter inside out
So here we go:
All grayscale and B/W done in Painter
Marker and Pencil sketches
The following two are based on google sketch up
And finally some concepts done for James Cox, the writer and director of 'Wonderland (2003), with Val Kilmer'
I hope there are a few things that you like...and i hope to solve my Photoshop-Painter dilemma soon...
thx for watching

What a great first post! Welcome aboard!
Lots of different styles, and concepts! I can only say that a few of your own techniques could use some slight tweaking/pushing further,(some color, anatomy, rendering) but I think the majority you know already.
Look forward to future post!
This is such a great art dump! You are good at many different aspects of illustration. The variety is amazing. Your environments are a pleasure to see. Thanks for sharing.
The wide range of styles and concepts are amazing and very envious. Things here are something different from the usual stuff we get in here though not so far alienated. The enviros are really something to be amazed by. Welcome to CA and hope you have a great time here.
thx. yes, sometimes i might stop too early considering rendering etc. I don't know...i really like some rough stuff of other illustrators, but in fact, i think that the more finished stuff is preferred by clients.
thx for watching
thx. I really did not expect this positive reaction for my enviros...feels great
well, if an ass looks too small or too big is a question of taste, isn't it
but it was more of a study anyways.
Here's another one. Hope to be able to show some cooler stuff soon...
- the arse on the girl above doesnt look REALLY SMALL at all; if you look at references, and life drawing studies, you will see how the thigh muscles react when positioned to such an extreme...
Good studies Erich, keep it up
thx, i will
Thanks a lot
First update for this year:
Finally my efforts over the last 4 years paid off, and since september 2007 i did not have the time to do a single personal piece...which means i was paid for all i did...
I also re-build my website again and added a blog, where i want to give infos and where i can show some basic tutorials. Right now there are two, but i am going to do another one over the weekend.
In my portfolio under 2008 Commissions are a lot of spaceholder titled NDA. Those all stand for commissions i am not able to show right now...either they are just 'in the making' or simply under NDA.
The first thing was done for Rowohlt Verlag (germany) last year...it was art directed to death, but the money was ok
Two Cards for Alderac Entertainment's Legend of Five Rings, for the Set: Words & Deeds.
Sony released LON Set04: Oathbreaker yesterday.
here are my cards:
I also did some things just for the money (browsergame illus, logo, etc) that i do not want to show here.
All in all i would say that my biz develops well. I have a foot in the door now, and an entry in the RPG industry, which i can develop further.
Hope you enjoy some of my work, thanks for watching.
There is some pretty good stuff floating around here. Especially your greyscale environments.
I'd suggest studying up on the fundamentals a bit, though. That last painting of the four girls walking towards the camera, for instance, shows proficiency in digital painting techniques, but has some anatomical issues. Same with the painting above it, as his ring and pinky fingers look broken. That kind of thing pops up here and there in your paintings.
Impressive scope of work, though, keep it up.
thanks and i know
my time for improving my skills tends towards zero right now, but i'll keep trying...
And some cards for sony:
Sony released Ethernauts yesterday, and here are my cards. Compared to the first set i did at the beginning of this year, i think there is a bit of a progress recognizable...at least i think there is one
