    00000N [Crits and advice please]

Well I've decided it's sketchbook time....Like many here it's a kick up the ass-not to work harder, but to work better....If when I get furthur along I'm not making improvements-then you may come find me and "take me out "pld:

Ok, to kick off: My first proper attempt at a sequential comic style page-the bottom panel took a lot of drawing an re-drawing. It aint perfect but I'm fairly pleased with it.

hey man, nice start, loving the little monster thingy, made for your friend to clay, right? I have to agree with you, color theory needs a little work, but other than that, i think your style is pretty fluid, keep it up!

cheers for the kind words madcat...she actually has some soft stuff she's using, its actually from the CSI model a face thing I think she wants to get into modeling so doing fun monsters is a good a way to practice as any I guess.

OK, my "environment" of the week-kind of light on environment but was fun to do regardless.

Ok, so i'm not gonna pretend i understood that.. lol, the closet thing i got outta that was mould the csi use to model faces of people?!?!? i'm wrong aern't i....

anyway, the picture, i'm loving it, its very cute and simple, actually makes me think of a book i'm reading if turned into a cartoon (mars, by ben bova, know it?), though the house thingy in the background kinda looks a little to..'clean' and blurry, i think this was the point but it just looks unfinished, hope you get what i mean.

i'm starting off a little comic myself, just loads of random shit really, but a comic non the less!.

you keep bringing the art, i'll keep bringing the manure!

Very nice style. I love the comic page up top. This last one reminds me of Bone. Keep it up.

hehe-Ok bad explaination there...basically there are these things you can buy in the shops-like a merch thing from the CSI series where in true CSI style you find a skull (in your cardboard box from woolies) and have to build it up with clay to solve the mystery of who the skull belonged to (I guess out of a list of suspects). Aaaanyway my friend solved the mystery and saved the day, but rather than having a CSI head lying around she's decided to get inventive and make monsters from the putty-all very exciting I know!.

Cheers daraf, glad you like em. I've never really taken a close look at the bone stuff-I just know they have some kick-ass covers.

Ok-just threw some pixels about just to see what would happen with this one-real quick unfocused doodling-the chamelion was a last minute addition. Again, not really sure what I'm doing wrong colour-wise, but I know I aint doing it right whatever it is, I think those colour books lying on my floor need some serious attention.

oooooh, so its just clay...? with added csi goodness?
anyway, all confusion and cheesey goodness aside, good for her! lol

i'm no expert on color theory myself, but to me it looks like the background was last minute and the cham was the focus of the piece, alot more refined, where as the background is blurred out, the lighting looks good, though theres a little bit of blurring lensflare, like on the back of the cham, kinda looks like a nuke 'plosion, i just think you need to refine it abit to be able to bring it out, make it more solid.

    just my 2 pence.

Oh, what you said in my sb, about the wording in the comics, what can i DO ABOUT THIS?!?!?! AAAHHH...... ahem..

Madcat....tis true....I did think about going at the BG a lil longer but it was only a quick doodle...and I didn't want to get too bogged down in it (trying to let go of the constant tweeking urge).

Liam C...thanks for the kind words man...glad you likes

Hey, that folio piece is sweet,
so, this watery one, at 1st it was kinda hard to read, but the more i look the more it works (for me anyway) i think the color and the detail confused me a little, are you gonna work on this some more at all?, and also, the man/woman/thing looks like its strangling its shadow haha
