Here are some nudes
oil 3 hrs
watercolor ~75 min
oil 6 hrs
I have some more recent ones but now they're in the garbage somewhere lol
watch the proportions on your figures.
the head seems to be a little big.
also get a sketch book! stop drawing on lined paper...not now....NOW!
on a lighter note...your last piece is quite nice....keep up the good work in this direction.
Man your work is awesome, the imagination in the first one, and the studies are great
Sorry for my poor english
I love the goggle girl. Not so much the paper on which she is drawn but whatever. Keep it up. ^^
Lot- thanks man!
Flip & Leper - thanks for comments! Though for the paper.. well....... uhh...
Starting tomorrow I no longer live in NYC though to be honest I prefer to hang out in the woods.
central park. when I finished I realized I had several ants on my legs.

the left hand has some issues. plus I couldn't get rid of the lines you guys hate haha
decided to color this one. I had to reduce her head size by 50% but now it looks a tad small.

I think I need to go back to drawing for a while. It's definitely a weak point for me. I was inspired by the work in the Spartan training camp and Bumskee's sketchbook so I decided to start the past few days doing 50 gestures of whatever.
I don't think the bird one was that successful. I think it was partly because all the photos are of birds sitting, not much energy in the shapes, and partly because I ink like a 4th grader .
Its good you back to the studies , and don't worry about inking like a fourth grader , I paint like a first grader , using finger paints.

Thx Evxyza. I left you a comment too.
here's some more stuff from a light work weekend. Damn you Odin Sphere !!
Bought in Montauk, caught in the Philippines. Aww yeah, represent.
photo refs, decided to do martial artist poses today. these take me about an hour (plus googling photos) and I'm pretty tired by the end.
Tried to do the "endurance drawing to break yourself" method to designing characters. some of these are just ridiculous but some are ok--I think it's helping me stop being stiff (aka I have something stuck up my ass that I'm getting out). I recommend trying it.
My teacher once told us how she once did 100 paintings in 24 hours--she said it was a great exercise, but she wouldn't recommend it. I am considering doing it on a smaller scale.. perhaps 50 in 12 hours?
Anyway thanks for looking. C+C welcome, as always, plus any general life advice you think we could use.
loving the massive amounts of figure studies
keep up the hard work
love it. wish i had that much ambition to work during a day. instead, i come here and look at people who work at their craft like you. haha
I love color so why can't I use it right?
Thanks Flip & SV!
playing with bumskee's brushes. awesome textures.
Oil, 90 min. F'in dropped it on the dirt while packing up
Finally, have time to mess around after a busy week.
lately I notice every woman I draw has her hand on her waist.. huh
some weird hockey dude. and an homage to the greatest mecha anime to date--Evangelion (macross plus and eureka seven are close behind). I think her face is messed up, I reworked it quite a bit but maybe I'll just do it over later on.

Ahhh.. finally I attend a life drawing session. Haven't touched charcoal in many months.
Range from 5 - 20 min and bottom is 40.
this is my workspace
5-20mins mech. pencils
not quite there yet, but i'm less dependent on the photos which I think is progress. refs from flickr.
lately I'm getting lazy. no good.
I realized something the other day. I give hard crits but sometimes I'm unable to follow my own advice. I guess that's what you call moving into stage 2 conscious incompetence.
some more figures. last time the goal was stroke economy, this time was attempting to understand form. He had a big head, which threw me off because I usually fight with drawing too huge heads. crits welcome especially on perspective.
5-20 min each

Nice SB! The kid with the thought bubble cracks me up. I also like the book case study - pretty sure I own half those books. I have a Unit 1 on my book case.
Thanks Mark, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Chobo, thanks for stopping by my SB. As far as making you want to go do some studies, it looks like you do more than I (or at least post more of them. LOL) You have nice digital stuff here and I liked the line work on the animal contour sketches!
Whatever you do, don't look at my Sketchbook and Painting Thread!
