    One of mine.

These are "finished" and would like come critique... because I'm sure I need it, eh heh

And I like coming here because someone told be to not use the dodge/burn tools and I actually listened

Everything's colored with a Logitech G5 and Photoshop Elements 2.0. One of these days I'll have a tablet.

    So...

(I'm aware his face is a little off... XD; I should start putting up sketches...)

the first thing id suggest is to tone down the saturation
Everything is so saturated it flattens out the guy....

which brings me to my next point.

the image is kinda 2d for the following reasons:

his left shoulders a squarely facing us....according to this position of his torso, his left shoulder (our left) should be moved in a and back...
his left leg is attached oddly and should be moved in.

and the face is very flat

    also,
where exactly is your light source? its not convincingly thought out here.

    Hope this helps!

Here's an example where I have reduced the saturation
I havenít addressed the anatomy issues

Now that it's pointed out I can see it...

You wouldn't believe how many times I revamped this one. I had one that was completely colored and finished, then scrapped it. I need to buy some books...

Yeah, I'm still working with the colors. "Painting" is just kind of tough with a stylus. Ahh, well. The color I can fix because I have the PSD, but the anatomy... well, gotta do better with the next picture.

    Thanks

I think your second version is an improvement. The colors are much more eye friendly. Keep up the good work!

Cool. I'll try and not use such bright of color from now on I also added more shadows to the face up there, so I think that helped.
