I'm really digging your perspective and general design talent. Is it all supposed to be the same place or different locations? I see some minor architectural differences.
I agree your sense of perspective is spot on for the most part. That last one is especially impressive considering you've only been using a tablet for a few months now.
Some nice thumbnails you have there!
As for the finished piece, good stuff, one crit I should share: The canyons seem to have false lighting, they should be in shadow as the light is coming from behind. If you did that the piece would pop out more. As you know, not too much as it would destroy the visual of depth.
Silverwing: Thats a tough one. I´ve always been huge fan of classic fantasy artists (Frazetta, Easley etc.) but since discovering CA I started to draw more hitec/scifi styled images and this site has been huge souce of inspiration for me, so I would like to thank all of you guys. Also some Gnomon DVDs I´ve seen made a huge improvement on my technical skills and I highly recommend them to everyone.
Rist: You are absolutely right. I been gazing that image too long and become blind to see my own mistakes. I darkened the canyon shadows (image updated in first post). Heres the result:
I'm just overthinking but The hovercraft looks a little bulky for what looks like one passenger, while the cargo ship looks to support quite a payload. Shouldn't the hovercraft be slightly smaller? Or is it supposed to support cargo/weapons?
Very nice concepts! And the improvement on the canyon is also great.
Ah, I thought that might be confusing so let me explain. The whole idea was to create a series of ships with same designlanguage. I wanted to fit all ships in one frame without huge excess space, so I had to resize those cargo ships smaller. Hovercrafts carry one person and cargo ships, as you expected, huge payloads. There are two people on the ground for scale that applies to "bigger" ships. If this makes any sense...
I think your enviro shots with marker are fantastic. I really love what a couple shades of grey can do. What size are these pieces? Also, for these pieces did you draw in perspective lines before you went to work?
They look really nice but there are a few perspective inconsistencies in there. I admire you for the amount of detail you put in, however. Really nice work. I was never one for straight lines. Keep up the good work.

sketcheth: I did enviros on A4 paper. Started out with really tiny thumbs, about 1x2 inches. Scanned, enlarged and traced them over. In the beginning I drew couple perspective lines with ruler but most of the stuff is free handed so there are some perspective issues (remaining from original thumbnail).
You've inspired me to clean up my line drawings! Mine are always too messy to colour on the computer...Just out of curiosity, those first few landscapes, were they shaded on the computer or do you use some kind of special felt tip pen?...I've seen a few pictures about shaded like that but never been able to tell :/

really diggin your composition in your thumbnail sketches. Nice work, keep it comin!
Echoing the call on the perspective issues. If you are having trouble finding your lines then it's a good way to go about it dropping marks on the paper to find the start and end of a line then connect-the-dots. If you hit lines with a ruler straight away there is a tendency that the ruler will obscure what you are trying to do.
Your color sense seems good but a tad ham handed on the lighting. The torch your dude is carrying seems to be lighting the character in a whole different way from the world light. Hit the highlights with a bigger brush on a lower opacity and light the big shapes and defined their volumes before going in and painting the higher frequency detail. in the textures and small shapes.
The smudging in the BG makes it seem like the light is coming from the left, but the trees are mostly lit from the right. Watch that light direction!
