    hummdrum's journal

    hi. completely new here. need a place to collect all my doodles and would love to hear what any of you think.

    i live in salt lake and am an illustration student at salt lake community college.

    heres my first. pencil an prismacolor markers.

    Your pictures seem so flat, It just looks like squares triangle and circles aplied to they page.

    thanks for the feedback F11.

    i use the little doodles to make larger more detailed paintings. i work out any problems with composition, value and anything else that will help me later. you want some form?

    There is actually an insane amount you can learn from distilling things down to their basic primitive shapes, and probably some of the best and most efficient practice for composition.

    Painting looks sweet, was this for the final? Man, so bummed I missed so much of that class Try and light it from the side next time you photograph it, will help reduce the glare. We should go draw soon, weekend maybe?

    Humdrumm, that portrait is going to be kickass, the face is great. At the moment the hues on his shirt seem a little unmatched or inconsistent, im sure you can fix that though.

    The portrait looks great!!But his proportions are a little strange....isn´t the hand too small?Any way,great work!

    thanks camara! the proportions are way off, but purposefully. the painting was for a head painting class. i wanted to emphasize that.

    self-portrait...somewhat.

    crayon on newsprint then painted on photo in photoshop. i suck with photoshop.
