Thread: birth card
August 7th, 2007 #1
This is the first of 2 drawings for a card for the birth of my daughter. I have little experience with the wacom and painting in general so all advice, tips, ideas, paintovers, it's all welcome !
The second drawing will be with a skinny wife and a new baby to join the family.
My origenal sketch had my first daughter in the picture as well but currently I erased her. I intend to place her back in just not sure how yet.

hmm well this is interesting, but how about a bit more explanation on whats going on here.. or how youd LIKE the audience to percieve this..
i like the colors, though they seem a bit desaturated. brighten them a bit i say..
amusing image though - JAG
it's only after you've lost everything, that you're free to do anything..

well this is the concept:
image 1: me + my wife + our 1.8year old daughter who is currently not in the picture but who will be. This image overstates well the huge belly obviously but also the tension and the disconfort for the pregnant woman. It's supposed to be funny.
image 2: stark contrast where all tension is gone, the big belly is gone and you have 4 shiny happy people of which on in the spotlight, the new born baby.
I tried more saturated colors but I'm haveing real problems making it work.
