    Cutman Redux

Hi folks, I also participated in the game character extreme makeover contest over at gameartisans, and thought I'd post my finals up for fun. My choice of character was Cutman from the original Megaman game.. brought back a lot of good memories while I was doing this.

Background story: Deep in thought about how next to take over the world, Dr. Wily suddenly noticed he was in need of a haircut and a moustache trim. Rather than leave his fortress, he chose instead to build himself a hairstylist cyborg - Cutman. Unfortunately, during the final phase of construction there was a programming goof and Cutman was jumbled up with the new war bot that Wily was testing.

The end result was a Cutman that is equal parts stylish, effeminate hairdresser and destructive, sociopathic lunatic.

Here are the prelim sketches and the orthos to go with it (noticed a few errors with the orthos since I submitted)

    hehe, that´s cool!
the blades in the painting could probably use more contrast, to make them look more like metal.

So this is what you've been up to. Cool redesign brother I love the energy and iterations in your thumbnails. If I may offer 1 small crit, his feet seem in awkward position to the direction his knees are facing. Dunno if that was intentional or not but it creates kind of an unbalanced feeling in his stance. Other than that I love the idea that went behind this. Keep rocking man, and yes we will sketch soon!

    Thanks guys.

Arne S- Good point about the metal, I'll see what I can do.

Patrick- Thanks man. Just checked out the illustrations you posted, very cool. As far as his stance goes, I'd say it's partly intentional and part needs-fixing. I imagined him having a very strange, disjointed walk. Sort of like Voldo from Soul Caliber (not so much his exact walk.. but that kind of off kilter feeling). That being said, I've probably got some perspective issues going on with those feet
