    In Memoriam GANGUS
Oblio, you're making it sound like Gangus died! I hope he's still alive, but it fortunately seems he is. You should rename this thread I think. Something like: Copycat action - Gangus won't mind

Or simply "Homage to Gangus - Babes and Planes"

    Here is my first WIP!

I thought maybe a Shuttle Launch.

Dying is just the beginning, and I thought this image would show the exploration that man undertakes during and after life. Our earths atmosphere is the barrier, once through the barrier we hit the afterlife and limitless possibilities and unknowns. We do not fully understand our afterlife, niether do we fully understand what is outside our world.

Oh man, I just read on the last two pages of the Victory Gals pages that he died. The link says he died of an aneurysm and he was only in his 30s. He was still active on CA just a few days ago.

I usually don't participate in these CHOW's publicly (heh, I usually don't post, period), but I will this time. Here's to Ganguly.

seems fitting that a competition of this quality should be in memory of such a great artist. lets just hope the big boys and all the others pull out their fingers on this one

does anyone else think glen angus deserves a spot up on the CA banner with the other professionals etc?

i would but im totally horrible a human characters so therfore dont want to lower the standard.

This is a very good topic, and a great idea. I reckon there'll be a lot of worthy tributes coming out at the end of this round.

Despite the efforts of many, I am still very much alive. This thread is in honor of Glen Angus, an illustrator most know from here and CGNetwork as Gangus.

Oblio, I didn't expect to be credited per-se as having initiated this activity, but nonetheless, I hope to see a big turn-out to honor a talented member of the community who will be missed.

Now I'm going to go draw.

That's really sad, i had no idea he had died when i looked at this thread at first, but i'm just shocked. His art looks amazing. And I feel deeply sorry for his family, especially his autistic child with no daddy to help him. God this is making me cry....

Even though I didn't know the guy, may he R.I.P. Personally I think this could be quite an emotional subject, but i'll still try and produce something in gangus' honour....

thought i'd get this posted before someone accuses me of copying since i'm seeing some similar ideas popping out honestly though i didn't copy or steal ideas, i started this the day the chow was announced and have been going over it a lot infact a lot of my ideas already got taken (e.g. the rocket) moving on...
the victory gal will actually have some sort of clothing but i'm not sure wot yet. she has a beak on her head. this is to symbolise the connection between her, the plane and the birds. instead of wings i thought it'd be a bit, different the birds are meant to be doves which have just flown out her hands. there may be more, not sure yet. the plane in the background is the concorde. I thought it would kinda match the bird theme, as the concorde is long, elegant and has a sort of beak on the end of it. there is a ribbon round her arm written on it : in memory of gangus (couldn't fit glen angus) atm there seems to be a lot of things going in the same direction making it a little cluttered? watcha think. any guidance you could give me would help also i'll give her a weapon of some sort but i'm not sure what exactly yet. I was thinking a big heavenly claymore. great entries so far btw lets hope to see even more!
