Its' free and it takes less than 10 seconds!
This week the aim is:
Produce 50 gestures and a one hour value/lighting study and a drapery study by the end of Saturday the 14th of July (your local time).
Register to join the troops below!
The gestures can be of anything, old men, feet, hands, paws, claws, robots, flying nuns, animals etc.
Please limit your value study to an hour. If you wish to refine it, post a one hour snap shot and then a final. It can be of anything you want, from as simple as an egg to a complex enviro.
The drapery study will be of a cloth or clothing item of your choice, draped loosely over the back of a chair or table edge. See page one of Fred Flickstone's tutorial if you feel lost. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=14739
Again, please put all your pics in the one post for ease of viewing.
This exercise is separate from last weeks'.

Hi I Will Join!!!
I'll join, how can I pass on a opportunity to draw 50 flying nuns?

Of course I'll join again!
inpho I went with long dimensions myself, about 1200x2600. Any size is fine, just make sure you downsize a little when your done so it's not too huge.

"Master storytellers never explain. They do the hard, painfully creative thing-- they dramatize"
I think I'll take some of that action too.
I won't be able to finish in time as I've spent all week at my sister's and haven't had time to draw.. I'll see what I can manage today though.
Here are some 30 sec gestures anyway. Definitely need to do more of these..

Okay guys, I'm down.
Here are my 50 gestures, split up into groups:
These are gestures after paintings in Don and Audrey Wood's picture book, King Bidgood's in the Bathtub
These are from photos in Eadward Muybridge's Human and Animal Locomotion
These are hand gestures after David K. Rubins, plus some folks at Jason's Deli
One-hour value study
Aaaand a drapery study (yes, it is sloppy...will try harder in the next one)

I'm pussing out already. Today I wasted 3 hours figuring out I can't shade worth shit. I won't have enough time this week to finish any of this. Goddamn birthday, if I had it my way it'd be spent drawing
I'll be back next week to regain my honour

Here is my batch of 50, my scanner is officially broken now, all values got lost. Tried to save what I could with levels but.... ah well here is the result.
Next round is definitely going to be digital, until I can get my hands on a new scanner.
I did my 50 gestures from pose maniac on the 90 second setting.. same as last time.
66 Gestures. (Pencils on papers) (photo reference used)
1hr Value study. (Charcoal on paper 18" X 24") (from life)
Drapery study. (Digitally painted with Wacom tablet) (from life)
Finished my stuff above. Metal-Mike, great gestures. How much time did you spend on each, and did you have references?
BEAR JR - great value study, subject and execution
MeTaL-Mike - really cool drapery, and thx for the kind words
Trashy - like how you use a limited palette with your value and drapery pieces, and thx for the compliment
Hope I can finish this one, I'm dead tired but still missing the drapery...we'll see.
To war Spartans !
Thanks, Addiso. It's a seed pod a friend of mine gave me.
dono. I hope so too
[EDIT] - a new one just started. Guess they will be weekly
