very nice enviros. really lovings all the colors and they're not hurting my eyes.
the monster above is great! gotta watch out not to abuse the rim lighting effect.
i see there is rim lighting under his belly, but it looks a little too strong for bounce
lighting. keep up the good work!

Spaggen-whoa thanks!
The Gurch-well thanks for stopping by
MattGamer-lol that's good
ah good point, I must not have been thinking, which is a very bad thing to do
thanks for the crits pretty angel, and mattgamer! I'd made some adjustments, i hope it looks better now. Also a work in progress for this weeks CHOW, i really hope i can finish it on time. for some reason every time i try doing a weekly challenge it always ends up on the same day as commission deadlines.

Your chow wip is looking sweet man, I'm really liking the costume you've got going on. I'm thinking maybe a bit too blue atm, although it is a wip. Maybe throw in some orangey colours or something to spice it up a bit?
Peace
Dan

while browsing threw my folders i found a really old piece that i still like so I decided to redo it! the old version might be in this sketchbook but you probably wouldn't want to see it anyway haha but heres the new version! oh and also I'd love to get some crits on this bar scene cause I've strained way to much on it and some fresh eyes would really help, thanks!

areve- oh cool
do you have any crits for it?
bouroune- ah gotcha
thanks for the crit
I'd love to work more on characters tho it may have to wait cause I was told that its best to excel in one than to be ok in both at least in terms of getting a job haha, but yea i definitely agree with you
Eiki-thanks!

Hey man, I like what you've been doing lately, branching out a bit i feel. Hey I was wondering if you wanted to kind of share the process you use to get everything set up for pictures like this one
Is it all pen tool stuff or how do you go about so many clean lines overlapping to the vanishing point.
I really like how this one is lit, with the natural light on top and warmth on bottom and that dragons colors are really sick. Keep it up I'll keep stoppin by
thanks for the posts

The dragon and the interior look great
The bar scene: The idea is nice, but the poses looks a bit stiff.. also I think that the dancer seems to be a bit too small.
Love the light in it, and the mood

first off i want to say that you have some really great looking pieces in your sketchbook, but i noticed that your people sorta lack a "soul". Like on the strip joint one, what are they looking at? Its all just a chain of people looking at one another at a strip joint. Their is no message there i mean, why would someone take out a calculator and why is there a weird looking big guy behind them. I'm not sure if you had some hidden message in there, but if you did it's to well hidden. I think more expression studies would help too, do some self portraits were you make all sorts of faces. Anyway, im sure you would rather see a critique then some pat on the back, so keep at it your really good but i know you can do better.

bWorx- lol well i've finished one of them at least!
DStraX- welcome
and thanks!
Quike Garcia-
i really appreciate the advice
and you're def right, I hope i can fix it, tho it may be too far in...
Krato-Hey Krato, I really appreciated the time and advice, I completely agree with you, i think you hit it spot on so I'll try to practice the faces
bharat-
!
MonkeYoakum,hp-OooH! I'm totally writing up a tutorial for that one! I had the idea to pitch it to some publishers first to see if there is any interest and if not I'll certainly post it here soon, cause i think i used a lot of techniques that could be useful to others
posting some finished pieces!! i've finally finished the creepy enviro and also had the time to join in on this weeks chow, my submission isn't doing so hot so its pretty obvious that i have a long way to go in producing an eye catching image but at least i'm happy with it, really happy actually and it was fun too! I don't think i've done a fun quick character piece in a long time. anyway hope you like them!

i think the pose and comp is not bad, you just need some more intense expression on her face =P
also i think a punch of color in a small area or a little more dramatic lighting near her face (or whatever focus you want) would make it more "sellable"
she's really cute tho!
i prolly already asked you but i've totally forgot....what are you up to these days? just freelancin?

I really like this ChOw entry in terms of pose and composition.
I think that brighter values on the face area and some stronger colour points would have added maybe that "punch". As always is just my opinion, I'm still lightyears from painting a piece on that level
