    East Berlin

This is a Nationale Volksarmee (NVA) commie soldier of the former GDR. Did this with acrylics, than scanned and continued with painter. Attached larger and a slightly smaller size.

I think you went a bit arbitrary and overboard with the hue changes in the skin. Purple face/brown arms/GREEN NOSE?!
Also, weren't their uniforms more of an olive or gray-green? His looks way too blue.

Thanx for the crit Elwell . Yeah, I guess I played around with with the colors there. I wanted to contrast the lively colors of the central figure with the bleakness of the background. And as for the clothes, the early NVA was still using Third Reich uniforms that were sorta bluish. Here, I also tried to do the same with the liveliness and all

Ah, didn't realize about the uniforms. I was just going by my vague memories of the guards at the East German war memorial over twenty years ago. As for the colors, there's really not that much contrast between the figure and the background. What stands out more than anything is the (relatively) bright reddish-brown of the road.

That left leg is distracting me. That foot pointing to another direction from his march. Feels like he is flying, as if he doesnt belong to that paht ,or body direction ,that left foot ( left leg foreshortening proportions, maybe the values can fix it ) but even so feels kinda small.

    The hat is all wrong.

When in doubt, go on Wikipedia.

    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...oplesarmy.jpeg

That's an image of those guys walking, and you have a lot of reference for hats. It needs to be rounder and gray-er and all that good stuff that it is in the picture.

    "Yakko...?"
    "Yes, Ms. Flameel?"
    "Multiply 47 times 83."
"Multiplication, it's math education! Isn't this swell? Oh, let's give multiplication a standing ovation...
so buy a calculator, study this stuff later!"

-Animaniacs (only a few good quotes from that song. Search "The Multiplication Song - Animaniacs" on YouTube
for this video and any other Animaniacs classic!)
