Icon Dragon Hunter... First 'Progress' report...

    Hi Guys,

How is everyone doing? Well i have been attempting concept art now for a few months but have not had much time due to University, which is now over, so i have lots of time for artwork.

This design is just something i have sketched up over time and would like some feedback on... It's not finished yet but is slowly getting there... So any negative, positive feedback would be really appreciated. - (Note) - I have worked mainly on the sky, colour and lighting... I have not touched the sword yet.

    Thanks - Akitool

Those are some truely nice clouds.
    And I love that expression.
But me thinks, if that almost-white line down the center of the torso armor marks the middle of his chest/belly, we'd see some of his other arm.
And just double checking, is that shoulderguard so massive it's basically the armor for the right pectoral as well? That's kinda' nifty, can't wait to see that refined.

i like the clouds and the hair alot, but pose seems a little off.
Id like to see some more of that red xloth across his chestplate too.
looks like it could be great.

Very nice, the sky is really great. The only problem i have is his posture ( the arm and sword look very stiff).

    Hi guys,

Thanks for the input. I totally agree with the posture, needs a lot of work. Will also add an arm and some more details. I will work on this tonight and hopefully get a post up tomorrow.

Thanks again and keep up the advice

Been working on this for about an hour tonight.
Made some adjustments to the body, added an arm and started the sword (Still very rough)

    Lemme know what you think
    Thanks

background work, and overall composition look great man... maybe throw some subtle highlights on the hair to define the figure, and tinker with the sword a bit ( it looks a bit too straight on, and chunky)...looks great so far, you got talent man, keep it up

The shafts of light coming through the clouds are going the wrong direction, I like the overall feel of the character.

I wouldnt darken the image with black in my opinion, the first image is actually better than the recent one you posted. The highlights in the armor probably shouldnt be white, think of the colors you're using in your enviroment

All I can say is what Croe said, and that was to throw in some subtle highlights in the hair. Right now its kind of a black mass on his head, hehe. Nice job so far, though.

    looking great so far man.
i dont know if you can go back and fix it now or even if you want to, but the 2 horns on top of his head seem off? or even if you had some highlights in between them, it might help. cause to me, I don't know how its working (like is it 2 horns, one above the other, or are they side by side?). i don't know, it could just be me.

but overall its a kick ass concept. loving the clouds and pose. cant wait to see this baby finished!
