EOW# 59 the room between worlds
open to interpretation . you'l notice it defines neither room nor world... could be actual could be metaphorical.
thanks to deadred for the topic
I will accept any medium.
Due July 11th
hmm this sounds awesome, i'll have a go!
good luck everyone
-the closer you get to the light.. the larger your shadow becomes..
Now Chaos, honey bum, I don't usually participate here, but this topic is right up my street and I can't resist. Finally this salmon- biblical rubbish is over and you've given people something exciting to draw!
First I'm gonna go get some fish&chips, then I'm gonna consume it('cos I'm hungry, I need fuel), and then I'll draw the best f****** room between worlds there can be!
At times when noone believes in me, I have to believe in myself, you know...
I look forward to seeing that
and please keep the trash talk in 3ch if possible. We try to be civil in here. There is a logic to the way I do topics, in EOW. if you are not person enough to handle the specific breif topics you are entirely free to do them every other week.
And that's exactly what I'll do.
I didn't realize trash talk is 3CH thing only...Sorry for saying f*** then.
Spent all day drawing and then batteries in my camera died and I couldn't make a photo of it! And it's too big for a scanner.....
For now I made a quick photo with my mobile phone.
I'll post finished one in better quality tommorow.
Oh, and I understand the focus should be on the environment...Hopefully when you see final image that is not blurred you will realize that really the environment around characters here is much more detailed and plays bigger part then it seems...Just don't reject it pleeeease?
-got some batteries, finished the picture.
It will be my last entry for a while because I'm going for a 3 weeks holiday
" The strange noises...they always came from behind that damn wall...ever since he could remember. He examined the wall carefully. He listened.
But sometimes during the night it woke him up- sound the of storm on a warm summer evening coming from there, or the rattling and hissing...
It was long after that he discovered that only half of his room was of this world.... The other, darker half, belonged to them. And they wanted him to cross over..."

can someone please tell me why I cant post attachments. great topic and I'd relly want to join, but the little sqare on the bottom of the page sais "You may not post attachments". kinda bugs me.
Grim Reaper: looks promising, just give us a petter picture of it.
You can't post attachments in any of the weekly activities. Posting images as attachments makes it more difficult for the moderators to copy and paste them into the voting thread.
The solution is to get a photobucket account, upload your images there, and then copy and paste the image codes into your posts.
Updated my entry, scroll up if you want to see.
I hate photobucket though. It shrinks images to 800x600 res, this particular one was originally 3 times bigger... I should've thought about that before making it so large.
Here's a close-up of an interesting detail:
Moai: thanks, i'm sutch a noob.
when I saw this topic I really wanted to enter, Ive done a WIP, but I dont know where to go from here. Any help is good help.
ooo lovely reference Moai! Thanks
Usually I don’t participate in EOW because environments are out of my interest. But this topic is different. It allows to tell some kind of story through picture and that’s quite inspiring.
So here is my entry – kind of reception or interrogation room between two worlds. No requirements about medium so I used Cinema 4D, Painter and Paintshop.
"When you pass the border between worlds you have to go through reception room and wait there for another person crossing the path in opposite direction. Every name is registered in guestbook. The room seems deserted because we don’t have many travelers those days but when you ring the bell attendant will appear quickly ready to ask you few simple questions."

It's the waiting room between dimensions.

That was the original labels on the doors. Heaven/Hell with purgatory as the waiting room. It ended up being a little too direct in its interpretations...Though this isn't much of an improvement either. I was thinking to lose the labels completely and just let the viewer decide, but there would need to be greater detail in the renderings within those little windows.
I wish i had more time but work keeps me busy and tired... i will get a few more adjustments in tomorrow night...
edit: crap, i just noticed the glaring symmetry. i have to fix that!
The room between worlds is something that only the purest of beings are able to experience such a phenomenon.
Contrary to popular belief the worlds animals are not being decimated by man....they merely crossing from now, into a greener, more pleasant land. To do this they must pass through the portal in which they will find a room.................with a tree.

Man has been living underground ever since the nuclear bombardments ravaged the surface. The gateway to pass through the underground shelter to the topside was nicknamed the room between worlds.
these are looking great!... Dont forget to makrk them "Final" and include a description.
Included description above.
I think this topic was top-notch. Very silent hill. Lovely.
a person's (in my case, an artist's) mind is a proverbial room that unlocks into unlimited worlds
(ya, I know- it sounded a lot better as I sketched up, but typing it out makes it sound a little.. silly. But this is my first post, so please be nice?)
DAVE NEALE...Attachments dont work...I am rehosting...but dont expect me to ever do it agaiN!
