Hola! My name is Juan and I have a confession to make...I'm an art addict...
Newest stuff at the end of the thread!!!

Here's a few more...is there a limit to how many images we can put on each post? I know a lot of sites don't like more than 3 or 4.
Few more I found. These are my first attempts at trying to use a Wacom tablet...I just got it a few weeks ago and I've been trying to figure it out in my spare time (what little I have of it).

And last but not least this is the promo image for my - Juan's Art 2007 Sketchbook - which will be released July 31st with the grand re-opening of my website. Limited to only 25 copies worldwide and each one comes with an original sketch right on the cover! w00t!
Not very happy with how things turned out, but I did the best I could with the time I had to get it done by. Still needs to be greyscaled, but I may end up redoing all the pages at a later date.
nice work! the anatomy is well done, not out of place or distorted! I like the creative flow you got going in this thread... look forward to more!!!!

More sketchbook stuff.
Oh yes...even more...

The greatest achievement is selflessness.
The greatest worth is self-mastery.
The greatest quality is seeking to serve others.
The thumbnails? I can see them all on my comp...
Nice sketchbook you have going. I think I remember your stuff from penciljack a few years ago when I used to go there.
I much prefer your looser stuff in here, the marker spidey and the Ashley Wood style robot really stood out for me. The tightness of the pencils in the other stuff detracts a bit from your original fluidity in the thumbnails and roughs, and makes the image a tiny bit stiff. Keep posting, you seem quite prolific
Your artwork is very crips and professional, and I think that the scans of your sketchbook work is very interenting and impressive.
I am definetly going to subscribe to this thread, and am really looking forward to seeing more of your stuff. I am very inspired!
BTW, are you a pro?
"Admitting that free man may err, in no way invalidates the importance of his ability to decide for himself."
"laws that forbid the carrying of arms . . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes . . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
monstertree - Yep, that's me. I've been on PJ for what seems like forever now and everyone keeps telling me to branch out, so that's why I started this thread to hopefully find someone to notice my work over here who will give me a paying jobby job.
Chymo - thanks. All my inking are 99.9% digital now...been trying to work with the Wacom because I can't stand making a mess with traditional inks...much easier on me this way. Glad you like the stuff.
Bones Weep Tedium - I am not an official published pro yet, but I work like one. This is all I do every minute of the day I can get. I don't watch tv. I don't play video games. I don't go out with friends. All I do all the time is stay home and draw, draw, draw just because this is what I want to do for a living all the time so hopefully that dream will become a reality soon.
Thanks for the comments guys. I'll go see if I can find some more stuff to post up for you.

Found some more stuff...
Here's some newer stuff I've been working on.
Been working a lot on this Iron Man story lately...
A couple rough layouts I did tonight:
My first attempt at coloring in this style.
OKAY!. First thing I would like to say is that when I first opened your sketchbook I thought "hmm it looks mediocre"...that being said the only image I do not like is the very first one....any single image after that I absolutely love. Your art is quite fantastic and reminds me a lot of marvel art.
Personally I only started to not go out and spend all my time drawing recently but man...you're practically my twin when it comes to what you do, how you approach it and what you wish to do for a living .
As for the wacom pad stuff. I know you don't have much..I recently started painting as well and I found that if you wish to blend then experimenting with opacities and different kinds of brushes is essential. Layers aren't even necessary when you try to blend...personal preference. I also noticed that when I read marvel art the colouring is done as if only gradients were used.....just an observation but keep an eye out..maybe you can shed some light on it yourself.
As for your style. Its very nice and very consistant...love how you approach your shadows in large blocks...I have a difficult time with that and my absolute favourite drawing of yours is the Skull batman....gorgeous....
I wish you the best of luck. Perhaps someday in the future we will meet and collaborate . I look forward to what else you have in store. respect.
