Bitey of Brackenwood - Painter X

This is my current (and first) digital painting in Painter X. I know there isn't much to see at this moment in time but I thought that I should post it anyways. C+C welcome (if any can be made from the lack of work).

I appologise for the lack of detail on the DP JPEG.

    Update*
I've added the little character in his hand and have started basic work on his fur. It still needs alot more doing. As before C+C welcome.

well, its not like Im one to comment. But I will anyway. I loves all of adam philips work, it all kicks ass. I know its still in early stages, but I think the original sketch looks good. It may just be the picture format you saved it in, but his fur looks all blurred weird. perhaps thats what you wanted. Im sure you will, but you need to add shadows etc, thats when it will start to look better. Anyway, I would very much like to see how this comes out. Keep it up

Thanks for the comments. I haven't done any significant further work; mainly just added more fur and more shades. I'm gonna have 2 weeks work experience in a graphic design company called r//evolution, so I may be able to do some further work whilst there. I'll keep you all updated.

Just a quick update, I've added the Bitey of Brackenwood WIP to my public profile gallery, for quickness. You can check there to see how it's progressing without having to leave a comment (although they would be appreciated ). I will also be posting in my blog to let people know when a new update has arrived or if one is in the progress of being uploaded. I'll post the current update of the WIP later on today.
    Cheers.

    *Update:
Heres the current version of the pic, I've done a little work to the fur and added a few more skin tones. I've hid some of the features to help me concentrate on the fur, the same goes for the blue background (I'll change that when I get around to it). I'm happy with how the facial fur is looking, but I can't seem to get the fur on the legs right. Any crits and comments would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.
