    Live Free or Die Hard

this movie was so bad ass. im a huge Die Hard fan, always have been and i waited so long for this new one. it does not disappoint. anyone else watch this yet??

i highly recommend it. just keep in mind its a Dia Hard action flick.. way over the top but still cool to see ;P

it also brings to light the security situation that is destined to doom this place [or most of the world] when it all goes tits up.

great flick.. go watch it - JAG

review huh?? hmm i could try but i wouldnt wanna give away too much. bah just go watch it, you wont be disappointed.

theres already some reviews out online. mostly though its NON-fans whining about the usual stuff. i mean its freakin Die Hard. if you're expecting anything else you're a douche bag and thats it.

McClane is back and up to his usual antics.. but the age and the times do show up clearly in this one. a few 'touch backs' to the older films that only fans will get and the plot is feasible. the action is freakin great and there are some rather nice surprises in there, good comedy too.

the end gets a bit carried away but its so freakin cool you really dont care honestly i wished the last few minutes had been a bit better, but after all the adrenaline you had pumped into your mouth for the past 2 hrs its a good way to wind down before the drive home.. or you might kill someone on the way out of the parking lot.

just sit back and enjoy it.. - JAG

PS.. theres a slight spot of bad editing in the film. you can tell this was a 'fix' after the movie was shot, that had to go back and be corrected but honestly its not a big deal.. just a rant by a character that really doesnt matter much. but just a heads up cuz i noticed it and it kinda bugged me, but its really no big deal.

for me the first one a classic seemed so fresh when it first came out or when i first saw it,
it was fresh break from the macho superhero types in action films,

the guy had problems he was flawed and he got injured but still kept that sense of humour and the white vest (wonder if they will make a comeback with the movie), I liked the premise that he found himself in trouble it was not the man on the mission to save the world shit went down and he gets caught up in the middle of it.

I was going to wait for 4.0 to come out on Dvd, second one still enjoyable 3rd one felt a bit jokey all about set pieces not the grimy atmosphere of the first.

Though Jag you may have changed my mind might go see it after all.

heh good i hope you do. i could stand on my soap box all day and preach to all about the goodness of Die Hard.. but im not going to.

but this movie is great. if i had to rank them as far as awesomeness.. id say this:

Best- Die Hard with a Vengance
Tied for 2nd place- Die Hard, Live Free or Die Hard
Participation Award- Die Hard 2: Die Harder

but thats just me.. just go watch it - JAG

I loved the first. Had a very claustrophobic feel which gave all the action a nice immediacy. the others sucked in general. Turning an action movie into a franchise is hardly ever a smart decision as far as the movie/characters are concerned... only where soulless dollars are concerned.

hmm...mu personal favorite one of the 3 was the last one (vengeance). They were all good, but I just took a liking to that one more I suppose.

I watched the 4th one last night, and I thought it was better than I expected. It was actually darn good. The one liners were very Die Hard-esque, and there were explosions and great action all the way through. I'd recommend it.

For anyone who is concerned that the movie isn't true to die hard because of its pg-13 rating. i assure you, Don't worry. Its basically a 2 hour long adrenaline ride with some of the most breathtaking action scenes i have seen this year. The acting is great, willis is a riot as mclane (as usual) and justin long was perfect as his computer hacker role. Bad guy is really cool, and also i didnt expect the story to be as interesting as it was.

If you think about it, PG-13 today was R back then. Die Hard 2 Had about as much violence as any action/war movie today thats rated PG13.

I just got the 3 disc set from Walmart (lol it was 16$ whaddya want), so Im watching them all for the first time before I see the new one in theaters. McCLane is awesome so far! I appreciate smartasses in action films.

I have never seen more explosions in a single movie in my life. God bless you, Die Hard.

oh, it was so good. I think it was the loudest movie I've seen in theaters in a long long time.

But they could never surpass the original.

    Saw it this weekend.

First: Live Free or Die Hard
    Second: Die Hard
Third: Die Hard With a Vengeance
    Fourth: Die Hard 2

    In my opinion.
I've never seen better special effects integrated into a modern "realistic to a point" film before. Thats what movie going is all about.
