"How I Raised Myself From Failure to Success in Selling"

I just picked up the book "How I Raised Myself from Failure to Success in Selling" a couple days ago from a coworker, and it's an amazing book! From the very first paragraph of the very first chapter it's packed with insight about raising yourself to success. It's titled success in selling, but don't be fooled, everything talked about in the book is applicable to most anything in life that requires organization, and hard work.

Totally worthwhile read for anyone interested in improving themselves.

In order to salvage this thread and calm down the forming mob, Sepulverture, do you reckon this book is going to help your artistic life? Are you freelancing? Etc, etc.

(I read the first few pages on the web and it looks interesting. Reminds me of "the power of NOW!".)

I think this book is helping me in a lot more ways than just my ability to sell stuff. It's encouraged me to do things i normally wouldn't do, like keeping a detailed daily schedule to try to stay organized, i've been doing that for the past few days and noticed an immediate improvement in my productivity at work and home. I just think it's a good read, it has information that could help someone pass an interview (it helped me there). I wasn't reading the book at the time of the interview I just had, but my coworker was, and talked about it a lot. The author uses examples from his career in baseball in the early 1900's that helped improve his professional career. I haven't read it enough to tell if it's going to seriously improve my artistic life perse, but at the very least it's given me some ideas on how to be more productive with my studies, i'm starting to use some of the organizational techniques that the book is suggesting. Admittedly it's early yet to tell if it will have a serious impact on my artistic life, but so far it's having a notable impact on my daily life in general, so I thought I'd share it with the community. has some heinous crime been committed here in sharing a book that I'm enjoying?

mea culpa, carry on (feel free to re-edit the op and put back the correct link)

No problem Hyver. I guess I didn't realize when wording the first post that it sounded so cookie-cutter spamtastic. Sorry. Edited link so that it is less spammy. The reviews talk a lot about success in sales (the title of the book itself makes that clear), but I like to think of this as teaching you how to sell yourself.

Anyhow, good book, read it if you get the chance.

On a side note, I was feeling particularly enthusiastic and this and that and whatnot and I just re-enrolled into college. Woohoo education!

same here. tho it might sound very wrong in a way, i kinda feels like that stuff fills a lot of gaps religion can't anymore these days and in our society.

btw i was blown away about how much kinda everything is just a napoleon hill ripoff . i didn't expect "think and grow rich" to be that up-to-date and to the point, given it's already 80 years old or so. parts of that stuff should be taught in schools.

That would be a hit in Oprah's Book Club: "The #1 bestselling self-help book of the summer."
