Digital quickstudies, 30-45minutes. Photo reference from flickr and the web. These are really fun to do, more to come!

Hi all, it's been a while since I last updated my SB. Been really busy with my final year at the Academy. So without further ado, here are some works I did for class and during my spare time over the last couple of months.

    update 11/6/2010

My figure drawing and anatomy is still weak, I've been focusing too much on environments, color and mood. I'm now revisiting foundations 101 and brushing up on the basics.

Feels good to take a step back from the wacom and draw with pencils again

Hey Nigh7shad3! Sorry for not writing something in you sb. Welcome to the group!
I think you don't have to worry about doing the right thing, you cover some really interesting topics. I especially like the cartoon like drawings of little Nürnberger Jungen
You're studies could be part of a book, they look so informative and clean. The paintings look great, but the anatomy isn't always perfect.
    Hope that helps!

@Demotyme Hi Demotyme, thanks for the warm welcome. Finals are over and I'm officially done with school life. Hope to get a job in the industry soon.

@Empyrean- Np man, I've been busy too. Glad you liked my take on Nurenberger. I'd like to visit the christmas market someday. Yes, anatomy's not my strong point but I'll keep at it untill I get better.

    thanks again guys

    Hey SSG fellows,
    I need your help.
I want to start drawing digitally, but I really don't know where to start. I want to do environmental designs, but also creatures and that stuff. Should I start by doing photo studies? Anatomy studies? Just paint?
My problem is: I try to start something, but then I struggle with questions like: b/w and then color, or first color then detail, which settings or which brushes and so on.
It would be reeeally helpful, if you just suggest something like drawing an apple, drawing a photo or something more specialized. Or if you just have a link or a video to get things started.

Thanks and keep it coming guys!

    Max

Learn your fundamentals. I'm still going back to perspective studies and line.

Here's a video to get you started http://www.youtube.com/user/FZDSCHOO...37/UrbfOpIP_UY

I've been watching those videos. Very nice. A lot of helpful information. Are you attending that school Nigh7shad3? It looks like a nice one. I just don't know if 1 year would get me to where I need to be.

Helps us on our journey. Comments and critiques are welcome.

    Sketch Dump :D

Happy Chinese New Year everyone! I wish everyone here on CA a prosperous and productive year ahead as we usher in the year of the Water Dragon. To kick things off, here are some new studies I did over the past few weeks. Enjoy
