Need help with armor
Hi everyone, this is my first post.
I started this sketch this morning and am now asking for help, because I suck at drawing armor. If you have any suggestions or ideas for good metal textures, then help me out.
PS: My scanner is a little broken so it's a lot brighter and some of the smaller details in the breastplate and face are lost.

I guess using reference of real ancient armor from pictures (of life if possible) might help. Also keep in mind that it will make it harder when you only start with the armor and not whats under it: the body. It devines how the armor is shaped. Your breastplates is now because of this too high and too small compared to his head.

Whitevillage is right, before you dress a body, you have to know how to draw the body. The breastplate, which I'm guessing signifies where his pecs are, are way too high. So first, get some good reference, a good drawing book (google "andrew loomis" and read his books) and practice your anatomy.
Second, you also have to practice at armor to get good at drawing that. So, here's a lot of reference material to help
