    Nickybeats--Thanks!

Icecold-- here are some links. i don't really use a Reilly abstraction for the figure. there are a number of people in SoCal who do quick sketch based upon what I presume to be a Reilly / Fixler approach, but I never learned it. Jack Faragasso (a student of Reilly's) has a book out, but I don't recommend it that much because he abstracts the abstraction to the point of absurdity, but maybe you can get something out of it.

    my draw-over of a photograph

Nathan Fowkes' blog. look for head drawing/painting demonstration step-by-steps.

sorry for the bump. here's a more or less finished grayscale. i'm gonna leave it alone for a bit before i see if i want to color it. the rear leg/foot needs to be resolved but as a rough sketch it's okay i guess.

i'm showing my age... i felt like doodling something based on the old videogame Joust. i'm rapidly noticing that i need to use a bunch of brushes to get a better digital painting effect.

Personaly, I think that rougher brushes make your sketches more interesting, much more moments for the eye too catch, too much smoothness makes the view look a lil bit plastic like here and not so intriguing, even if its a simple figure sketch.

more work in progress... pretty soon i'm going to get my ass kicked because i will be taking another class simultaneously. simon lee (spiderzero) is running a creature sculpture class. he sculpted stuff on hellboy and pan's labyrinth. if you've never seen his personal work, you should check it out:

I agree with kischi, the environments are sexy, and so are your paintings on the female anatomy. I am just wondering as to how you stay so motivated? Would it have anything to do with a man called Napoleon Hill?

I hope to be the best i can be... nothing less
