ROUSALKA and the Faeries of the 1001st Lake_(Up 17 July)

    Hello everyone,

Itís been a long time since I posted anything. Actually Iím working hard on
another book project named ROUSALKA with my talented friend Damien Vaillant as a
writer, and with the (not so) secret hope it will meet the interest of an
editor, why not in the US or somewhere out of France (my country).

Itís an illustrated book of Slavic and Romantic Fairytales, introducing some of
the most famous Faeries of the Polish and Lithuanian legends. These are stories
of passion and nostalgia, which are the roots of what Iíd call the ďSlavic
SpiritĒ. ROUSALKA was designed in the old tradition of the wonderful fairytales
illustrators masters like Arthur Rackham, Ivan Bilibine, Kay NielsenÖ

Hereís a tiny bit for you:

thanks for your attention. Take care everyone

    Bardzo fajne ilustracje oddajace temat...

Very cool illustrations, love the old style...

As my artist's statement explains, my work is utterly incomprehensible and is therefore full of deep significance.

Fantastic. They really have something Slavic in them and also remind me a of some really old fairy tale books that I had in my attic.

    Pozdrawiam, Farvus.

These images are amazingly beautiful... I love every single one of them.
The design of the pages and the illustrations work really well together, they really capture that sense of tradition and old tales.
Thank you for sharing these! Extremely inspiring work

really elegant work! somehow it captures the classic storybook feel of harry clarke or rackham, but theres such a great contemporary feel to all of these as well! my favorite best stuff i've seen on ca.org without a doubt

That's some very nice work there.

I love the eyes of the girl on page 15. She just looks so sad. Every time I try that look it turns into constipated

Great work, thanks for sharing and good luck with this and future works.

The graphic elements and designs are wondeful. You should have no troubles finding a home for this book.

Mmmm. Has a somewhat art nouveau feel to the art. I love it.

EDIT. Damn, my French is rusty as all heck.

The design work, patterns and motifs are just stunning.
Are any of them traditional or regional based?

The one thing that bugs me is the really long hips on the girl/cat creature. Just doesn't look right to ME.

    Otherwise, looking great so far.

As someone who grew in a Russian environment , i got to say that those pages really touched me. I remembered my childhood when i was sitting on a small chair looking into books my mum read me , looking at those pictures of bagatir's (Russian knights) on horses and beautiful princesses!

    big respect!
    and please upload some more!

    Simply stunning!

My only crit would be that the title isn´t up to par with the rest of the work. Perhaps you should do it by hand instead of using a font. Just to get some more life in it.

Great stuff. Reminds me of Ivan Bilibin who is amazing. I'm betting you've heard of him but if not, check him out.
