This was for a contest about the basic shape of the figure. It needs critique and editing...A lot of it, but I spent a lot of time and I learned a lot from it.
Three sketches from life and one painting that is WIP. So tired of having it set up on my desk. Hopefully it will be done soon.
Btw, anyone know where to get resources for some good Master Copies?...
Thanks so much luthertaylor and MusicMetalHead! The drawing is a work in progress, and I've been working on getting more darks in (which is actually hard to do on gritty paper, for some reason). ...
Your painting studies are amazing. I love how they look like oil-paintings - really brilliant.
Really good oil portraits! I especially love the one above.
Oh my gosh, I really love the Mistborn painting/scribble. I love Elend and Vin, and Kelsier makes me cry.
WIP of the most boring still life ever. From life.
Apparently Flickr is not the most reliable (or simple) image hosting service. Oh well.
The long promised figure drawings, portraits in progress, doodles, and life drawings.
Oo, I love the Wonder Woman and Flash reboot (especially Wonder Woman - so classy).
New stuff. Semi finished stuff. Sketch stuff. Non figure drawing stuff, which sucks. SOMEONE KICK ME.
Fixed the composition (and everything) on the painting I was complaining about. Ugh. Needs so much work.
Of course I remember you! Your coloring and figures are getting so good! Thanks for the advice, as well. I'm dying for critique, always.
Thanks, Stroudle! AUGH. Color theory. I'm starting to believe that the only way I can understand it is to just...do it. And you are totally right - focusing on value first does help.
That last painting is freaking amazing. Brilliant work.
I love the colors of the graphic novel! Actually, I love your whole sketchbook. Keep up the hard work!
Thanks to both of you! Yeah, I definitely favor portraits, which isn't good.
Just what I needed to hear, Psychobuddy. I keep thinking that there is a trick to learning it, but there isn't.
These studies are so good! I love how organized you are, especially with your anatomy studies. I'm looking forward to seeing those illustrations!
You are back! Awesome pin-up. I love the skin tones. Your digital brush strokes always look like they came from a fresh tube of paint. If that makes any sense.
Oo! I love the character concept sketches, and the drapery study. Looking forward to seeing more!
Sooo many things wrong with this self portrait. I have to admit, it does look like me, but I haven't really conveyed the form, and there is no set light source (bad lighting on my part). ALSO. The...
Those sketches are breathtaking-especially the one from the cafe. <3
I am so impressed with the way you draw buildings. Sketching them seems so hard to me. How do you not loose track of where you are, and what you have already drawn (I sometimes get lost in the...
The first two are really cute! I love how you draw facial expressions (that is so hard for me). The last one is really very sad, you captured the emotions really well. (***EDIT* Ooops, didn't...
I love the last one! The robots are adorable. I like the clouds as well - I've been on a cloud hunt lately, painting anything that is white, slow, and cottony...though by that definition I should...
Portrait WIP. Emphasis on WIP.
